Arkansas just fired John Pelphelry. Any thoughts on the impaxct that may have on us in a coaching search? Will or can we compete with them in this area?

Looks like Texas Tech's pipedream of BCG is over. Now maybe Ky Madden will transfer and join his sister at Baylor.

lol figured this was going to happen soon. I'm telling you...the guy from Murray State would be my choice.

Looks like their #1 target is Mike Anderson (no surprise) with Buzz Williams being the #2 option. Arkansas is a sleeping giant in SEC basketball. Good fans, facility, tradition, and location for recruiting.

The Arkansas job would be a great one! Huge support there, rich tradition and great opportunity for someone.

Interesting thing just pointed out by Jeff Goodman of Fox. If Anderson says No, another name fans throw out is Billy Gillispie, which may make Tech move fast on its offer. But, Goodman says Arkansas officials still angry over fact Gillispie actually verbally accepted Arkansas job and was headed from A&M to there until Kentucky slipped in and Gillispie dumped the Hogs.

Why is that, because of tradition? Their attendance has fallen off sharply. Alabama and LSU have huge budgets and LSU had Pete Maravich.

Yes, tradition mostly. 6 final fours and a national title. LSU has arguably a history close to that of Arkansas, not Bammers though.

Attendance is down, but look at the product the last three seasons. If they get a guy in there that wins BWA will be rocking again.

I don't know what their budget is in comparison to LSU and Bama but I'd assume its adequate.
