THE problem with hazing is that when tolerated by an institution it usually escalates over time. What was a simple wack with a paddle becomes finding the biggest guy on campus to hit you in the donkey with a boat oar a few years later. If there are rules where it doesn't go to far I can go along with it but what is happening at Penn State is too much IMO.
Best hazing ever is going through a Shrine initiation. They should televise one of these. I was in the anything goes group. The only rules were you can't kill or draw blood. WWII guys come out of the woodwork with contraptions you can't believe, friends and family come down and want you to participate in some of their favorite things. I laughed all night.
