I am so tired of hearing the blame game being played. Nobody wants to admit where the problem started and it wasn't Bush and it wasn't Obama.

America has become the epitome of greed. We aren't satisfied with anything anymore. We want to have everything, do everything, look half our age and live forever. I don't know why people are so shocked the country is in the state it's in. And it's not democrats or republicans that did it. It's us.

And the answer is, there is no answer out of this mess until we change the way we think and go about life. That's just the way it is. There will never be enough money to satisfy the cravings America currently has. And until we're ready to experience life on a different level, things will stay the same.

I certainly disagree with some of your points. Desire is why this is the most innovative country in the world. People always want more, that is a good thing. It keeps them from being static.

I really dislike your last statement. It makes me think of this lifestyle change that people seem to want to force on this country. The whole idea of people living in 800 square foot flats with the temp set at 65 and a 2 seat solar powered go cart for the family car parked in the driveway, makes me a little sick. I don't want any of that.

Exactly my point. You read my entire post and saw nothing except what monetary gain could get you. You are exactly the type person I'm talking about, proven by YOUR last statement.

I suppose you are against monetary gain in your personal life?

My last statement just said I don't want people telling me how I should live or even encouraging me on how to live. So that proves what to you?

I've had more monetary gain in the last five years (I'm 42) than I did my entire life. Because I learned how to live within my means. I worked hard, we have a house, four cars, a boat, take vacations, and have savings. I live on what I can make, not on what I can borrow. People are in debt up to their eyeballs cause they weren't satisfied with what their salary could provide them. I'm saying, satisfaction doesn't mean an 800 ft flat, but that's what you assumed I was implying.

I made assumptions because of the sweeping generalities you threw out.

The owner of the company that you work for probably has the exact attitude that you are against. If not, would you have a job?
I know many people that only try to make more money so that they can serve the Lord and fund the missions of the church. Do you think they are wrong?

I will say this much on the public forum, I work for a company that does not over borrow or over extend itself and has stayed in business the last three years while we've seen four companies across the country in the same business go down.

Just so I get this straight, your real "beef" is people and or companies that overextend their credit lines?
Sorry, that is not what I took from your first post.

I agree with your argument about greed as long as you define greed as living beyond your means and/or attempting to use fraud or unethical means to obtain what you want.

However, I interpret your last sentence as trying to curb one's ambition. I don't think that is necessarily what you mean, but the ability to accumulate wealth is what drives people to succeed.

I have not had any debt ,except for my mortgage, for over twenty years, bu that does not mean that I do not want to attain more wealth. My kids are definately going to need it.

I don't expect anyone to agree with me. Just stating how I feel about it.
I agree with you hell look at this statistic
CEO pay: Redefining sky-high - Aug. 30, 2005
their is only so much true wealth to go around and it seems to be concentrating at the top and everyone else seems to think they are part of that everyone wants to get the latest toy that comes out newest car and houses they can't afford we screw ourselves from top to bottom.

Can you tell me what that is and what the number currently stands at?

This article is from 2005. Dig a little deeper and you will find an article on the civil war.

New wealth is MADE everyday. The notion that there is a defined amount of wealth, is pure BS.

It's only 3.5 years old do you think it's dropped so significantly in that time.

Nope. That does not defend your statement though.
Lets try this you take all assets in the world that makes 100% of assets you stand in the 78 percentile of ownership of thoses assets meaning that 77% own less 22% own more. You do well for 3 years and move up to the 84 percentile someone that at one time was wealthier than you is now poorer than you.You made more wealth for yourself and you moved up the list that does not mean more wealth was actually made cause you can't go above 100% of wealth/assets.
