Blue States subsidize the Red States. Blue States get far less back from the Government than they contribute while Red States bleed the Government coffers dry. Fact.
Low tax states have been subsidizing high tax states for years. High tax states shield their citizens income from fed taxes, refusing to pay their “fair share”. This is why you’re seeing many more people moving into low tax states. It’s finally hitting them hard in the pocketbook.

Yeah the deduction off of federal income taxes for home mortgage interest, state income taxes and property taxes was probably substantial for New England and California residents.

Pennsylvania and other states have a cool little trick where they tax you on your income before 401k contributions. Because they know so many PA residents will retire to a low cost state and they’ll never get their pound of flesh. This is also a reason many low tax states appear to be “takers”, when you retire from NY and move to FL your SS/MC benefits follow you. So those low tax states have far more entitlement money going to them due to retirees and tax refugees.

Look B-hole, you trying to justify your crappy socialist utopian society is comedy. Vandy ribs. Fact is, you fools can't grasp consequences for one's actions (or votes) you keep voting socialist, just move to one of those utopian states you love to defend.
Triggered, right on cue. If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen.

You vote dem.... nuff said

Actually, its not nearly enough said. At least you threw in the towel and quit before you dug yourself any deeper into the nonsensical, whiny, hissy fit rabbit hole you were going down.

I love how conservatives talk about California on here like it's trending toward becoming some sort of barren ghost-like state. On the economic front, the state of California has the highest output in the agricultural industry. The economy is diverse and robust. Apple, Chevron and McKesson, three of the world's largest firms, have their headquarters in California. If California were a country, it would rank as the 5th largest economy in the world. It has a population of over 39 million people... but you think they're in trouble because more people are moving out then moving in? That is stupid.

It wouldn't rank the 5th largest economy as an independent country. Just think about it for a second, it's a BS statement.

Of course, what you did point out as fact is true, but CA is still like the guy with $100K income and a $600K boat parked in the drive next to the Mercedes and the expensive motor home while living in a $500K house that cost him a cool $2M because it's in CA ... CA is living way beyond it's means.

Actually having lived there , I can speak directly to it’s economy, taxes and well being over all . The rich pay the taxes because they can afford to and not be hurt by them . The poor , the homeless and the illegals skirt the majority of the taxes because they deal strictly in cash and don’t own anything the state can tax . The middle class is getting crushed from the state taxing everything they can think of to get themselves out of the hole with the upside down Pension funds . The agriculture is grown by huge companies like Hunts, Green Giant , Farm Fresh , Blue Diamond Growers , California Diaries Inc., SunKist Growers .. etc etc. and the “ immigrants “ do the work . They also wouldn’t have that 4th, 5th , or 6th largest economy without the Military bases that are there in the state . So to sum it all up ..they suck , and are driving the very ones that pick up the slack “ middle class families “ out of the state . Soon it will only be the Rich , the poor, and the illegal workers .

The fact is people move out of the blue states in droves, and everyone knows because they don't want to live in crime-ridden, sh*t covered ghettos while having most of their income taxed and having to pay $100,000 for a 1200 Sq foot home, while their kids go to crappy public schools, and they are outlawed from drinking plastic straws and large sodas, while the police takes an average of 55 minutes to respond to serious calls...

If you are an elite millionaire, tech giant CEO, or actor/athlete, California is awesome, for normal people, not so much

You can add poor and illegals . Standing on the corner ( day labor ) and working for straight cash, its a booming business right now in Cali.

If you want to find out who is moving into your community go to a dog park. I try and take my dog to the dog park once a week or so and it's an easy place to start up conversations with total strangers. Just this past week I met a nice young couple from Illinois that escaped because of the taxes. In the parking lot I saw license plates from New York, Indiana and Michigan. One of my new neighbors I met recently informed me that she found out that they were "half backs". I'm telling you it's a northern invasion.

I believe Hog and I live close to each other.

I am literally one of the very few people on my street that was raised here. My neighbors are all from NJ, CA, NY, IL.

I bet Hog situation is very similar.

My point....stop moving here!!

What made you think that was the message here? It sounds like the thread is about the states they're moving to being in trouble.

And it's "than". Not "then".
