Pepsi is racist

ok, so what you're saying is that every newspaper in Mississippi, Alabama and West Virginia are exclusively racist.

Aside from the fact that we have to take your word for it that the coverage was on page 5 and not on the front page you still haven't proven, to me or anybody else that the Daily Corintian's coverage of Obama's election was racist.

I see reading comprehension is not your strongsuit. I want to blast you so hard now but I am bigger than that. I like my time here. Go away junior.

Other than Jimmy Carter, a democrat hasn't won the southeast vote since arguably 1956. JFK could make a case.

Obama won VA, NC, and Florida. A democrat hasn't done that since Carter. Clinton is the only candidate to pull at least one, and that was Florida.

Ok thanks for the info my friend!! What changed?

you can always shoot me a PM if you feel so motivated. I'm not easily offended, so you can use a bunch of monosyllabic four-letter words.

We're still waiting for your proof that the Daily Corinthian is a racist publication. Otherwise, you're no better than LG or gibbs when it comes to making specious accusations.

I don't have time to go into great detail, but from 1880-1960, the south was predominantly blue. Goldwater was the first to really make ground and that was against LBJ. Ever since Reagan, the southeast has been mostly red. Clinton did well, though.

Since JFK, if you count the number of southern states Republicans have won over Democrats - it isn't close.

(This is counting WV, KY, VA, NC, TN, SC, ARK, LA, MS, AL, GA, FL)

Republican: 102
Democrat: 39

If you really believe that racism only exists in those states, I have some ocean front property in Arizona I'll let you have cheap.

The 47 states reference is pertaining to them as a whole. Those states as a majority are not racist. I would say that some states like WV still have some work to do. But as a whole the country has moved on.

Here is the dirty truth about that commercial and the real reason why she is upset...

It paints black women as emotionally unstable, erratic, controlling and afraid of having to compete with white women (or other races of women in general) for their men.

That is the real deal, folks. Racism was just a convenient smoke screen. She actually probably has no problem with a white woman getting hit by a soda can that was thrown at her by a black woman.

:zeitung_lesen:

The black blogsphere is bubbling about this commercial.

Coincidently, Pepsi also owns Frito-Lay, which ran another controversial commercial last year that painted the black family in a bad light...

YouTube - Doritos® - Crash the Super Bowl 2010 Finalist - House Rules

The truth is that the majority of black households are run by single women. This commercial essentially re-inforces the baby momma phenomena in the black community, as it reaches the mainstream/Madison Ave.

I guess the truth hurts.

This is the crap that pizzes me off. I just watched that commercial. I saw a good looking single mom and a son telling some guy to not touch his momma or his chips. I found it funny. The commercial could of had a white chick in it and it would have been the same thing.

Single moms are the future it seems and has nothing to do with race. Why can't we just see a freak'n commercial and not make it about race.

Damn.

Fact is teenage girls are stupid and teen pregancy is on the rise. 55% of children in TN are being raised by their grandparents. That is scary and across the board.

Yeah, that commercial started a hot little convo at the party I went to.

When the chick sat down, everyone that was still paying attention had the "oh ish" on their faces.

....Rasputin knocked that one out of the park. It hit 'em where it, hurt the most.

I drove through Mississippi once on my way to the Sugar Bowl. I completely agree that parts of this country still have issues. I would also state that Mississippi is a very small segment of our country and does not reflect the overall viewpoint of most Americans. I would say that the 47 of the states have moved on beyond racism. Mississippi, Alabama, and West Virginia still have some issues.

I'm going to have to disagree to a point here. Living in bama I see less racism here then I do up north in Illinois and states in that area. I lived here about 30 years and have only seen the kkk here in my area once and that was about 28 years ago. The people treat each other the way they want to be treated and seem to really get along. I can't speak for bama as a whole, just this area.

Can we keep it 100 for a just a moment? Relax and follow me for a second.

If we are honest, that Doritos commercial would have had a totally different vibe about it if it would have been a single white mom and single white guy getting slapped by an out of control kid.

The sad (and truthful) part about that Doritos commercial that it so close to reality that it hardly looked out of place. Even myself, for example. When I see a black woman out with a kid in public, i just assume she has no husband... real talk. That ain't racist, that is just playing the odds. Like I said, the majority of black families are female run, and that commercial didn't do anything but enforce what is already known to be true. It's just that the Shelia Jackson-Lees and Jesses and Als of the world don't want to address the eroding black family. Instead, they would rather deflect and aim criticisms at the white man or scream "racism".

Real talk

Even if we take race out of it, you should be concerned at the fact that single parent families are now considered normal. So much so, that it can be used in a mainstream television ad and be glossed over without the average person even thinking about where our society has deteriorated to.

The black community is simply the canary in the coal mine. Unfortunately, the two parent (one man/one woman, btw) family in the US is becoming extinct.

You guys had better wake up...

That was considered racist?

Wouldn't it be more racist to turn black people away at the auditions just to hire all white people?

Stupid.

Your canary in the coal mine part is very true. The problem is the education level in this country is going backwards fast. It first started in the inner city due to there not being as much funding as the suburbs. Instread of fixing the situation they began busing and other crap that made it even worse. The decline in education began to spread out and now society as a whole is lazy and has no values. It is very true that the African American culture has a serious problem with single moms. Problem is that same issue has now spread into the caucasian race also. It is not a black or white issue though. It is an education issue. WE cannot move forward until all races come to the table with the same amount of set skills. Until we race the education and teach people that you can't have a free ride but most work to success this country will continue to go backwards and society will continue to fall apart.

Still plenty of racism around the country... Just play a game on XBOX Live and you'll know quickly. I specifically remember several members of this forum that used to make black jokes while playing COD4.

Is Chris Rock racist then?

Does telling a black joke really make you racist though?

I'm a cracker. Big deal. We make too much of words.

Is Chris Rock doing it to demean someone?

Yes, because it's demeaning. It's the whole, "If you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all" thing. FFS, it's simple. Besides, telling ignorant jokes makes you look small and, well, unintelligent.

I will say racism and homophobia has won 75% of one side of my family's vote. Racism is still very much alive IMO. A lot of God fearing Christians in that pile as well.
