Yeah, we don't really have a lot of room to talk about anybody on another team failing a drug test. I will say that the kid is really dumb for not knowing better than to do something like that before the combine. I just hope the Titans don't waste a pick on him......I see him being another Ted Ginn Jr.

Granted Coker wasn't on the level of Harvin's start power, but he wasn't a "nobody". I don't think this will hurt his draft stock really. But what will hurt his draft stock is the fact that he's fragile and has a "me first" attitude

See Warren Sapp.

Once again, character issues strike Florida players. In other news, Jimmy Hyams just said that Marlon Brown will go to Ohio State.

All I can say is Dumba**!!! A little weed just might knock him out of the first round and cost him a few mil, hope it was good stuff.

We have no room to talk. I have personally seen a large amount of our football and basketball team smoke weed every weekend. Harvin was dumb for not being clean when he knew he was gonna be tested though.

From the Jacksonville newpaper, article dated yesterday:

Harvin was also among the five players that ProFootballWeekly.com asked five high-level league executives to rank as the riskiest picks. Harvin was a unanimous No. 1, and the Web site reported that two executives said they would not draft Harvin at all, and one said Harvin would have to slip to the fourth round before he'd consider it.

You know this how?

College coaches don't make it a practice of releasing details of every failed drug test by their players, this is a fact. By the time the rumors start spreading around about a player failing a test it will usually mean it was not their first positive test for drugs. I know this from personal experience with a family member playing for a D-1 school.

"Gradulations to Percy Harvey for no knowing they tested fa pot at N-F-L combine" from U.S. Rep. Corrine Brown (D)-Florida

I was not aware that Harvin was caught while playing for UF.

As someone posted earlier, its naïve to think he just started smoking.

I'm sure this has been an issue before, it was just kept under wraps.

Coker was removed from the team...

Harvin wasn't.

If I understand correctly, your implication was that we removed Coker and they did not remove Harvin. Were you implying that the 2 situations were the same and that we are morally superior or did I miss something?

Sure, if thats how you want to view it, so be it.

We did the right thing, even though it was very late in the game (after his 4th strike, correct?). Florida seemingly did nothing. Now if you want to believe I'm stating we are morally superior for doing so, be my guest. Also, point out the differences in the two situations, since you're implying that there are.

Edit: the post I was quoting seemingly implied that we didn't have much room to talk on this subject considering players such as Coker. I was making the point that we chose to remove said player from our roster while it was more than likely overlooked by Florida.

are you sure it's different? IIRC the rule is 4 failed tests and you're out. Had PH failed any before this? Even if this was #4 he was no longer a player right?

this is such a non-issue
