Pete or Pat

Agreed. Patterson's defensive expertise would be a breath of fresh air after this season and, more importantly, is a perfect fit for the physical style of football played in the SEC. The only question would be just how well he would recruit here.

Not sure how he would recruit here either. He my open the doors up for the state of Texas though... And his name recognition alone would get him in the door for most HS coaches... I think the curve would be relatively small... I'm not really sure how interested he'd be in leaving TCU though...

His defenses are just so freaking FAST!

agreed. College and NFL are different ballgames. Success and experience in one doesn't necessarily translate to success in the other, and this has been proven many times. This is exactly why I want someone with college experience and knows how to succeed in the college game... Petersen and Patterson both fit the description.

I thought this was an interesting video.... Makes me wonder if 18-22 year olds could handle this from a coach...

WARNING: some things are bleeped but this video contains strong language.

Patterson..he has gone 116-34 while having an AVERAGE recruiting class ranking of 60.....That's coaching.

Patterson is #2 on my list. I think he is as close to a sure-thing as you can get.

If we can't get Gruden, I'd be ecstatic with either of these guys. I've got them 3 and 4 on my list (Patterson, then Petersen) after Gruden and Stoops. I'm not sure we can get either of them but either would be a homerun.

True, but it would be hard for him to do that in the SEC. I would like to see Patterson here and I think he would have some of the defensive players that we thought were going to be good actually playing up to their potential.

Other than Bumpas (if he did decide to come with Patterson), Shannon and maybe Dan Sharp (special teams coach), he would need to build an SEC staff and one that can recruit in this conference.

I think he could get us back to what made us so good for years and that's solid defense and a strong running game. This is also where I would see Graham and Pittman being able to remain with the program.
