Petrino back to Arkansas...

Great move by Pittman. Pittman continues to attract big name coordinators despite being on the hot seat
Pittman's initial coordinators (Briles and Odom) were great. He missed them both this year.

I think the magic is over with Petrino. His second stint at Louisville was just OK (still managed to lose 4 games with Lamar Jackson's Heisman campaign) and ended horribly, and he had something of an uneven few years at Missouri St. I know he had injuries with his QBs at A&M this year, and perhaps Jimbo was still interfering, but that offense this year didn't set the world on fire. He hasn't done a thing that was particularly impressive since he fell off the motorcycle.

The fact that you think he hired a guy good enough to replace only shows how good of a candidate he hired. It’s a trend
Of course it's a good hire from an x and o standpoint. It's dumb bc he just hired the guy who's going to replace him. This isn't hard

Is BP really good enough to root his way back in to the job that he got fired from because of his of shenanigans? I mean, I respect a great offensive mind as much as the next person (and this is not an invite for the Kiffin jockhuggers to put on their lip gloss) but he was irrelevant at A&M, as well as his swansong with Lamar…If he pulls this off, then God love him, but I can’t imagine that this will actually happen. This should be the benchmark of desperation if he does.

There best coach ever? Only ruined by the "accident". Yes. Once on staff it's already ok to make him the HC.

I agree. I have nothing to really back this up but always seems that most "homecoming" type situations don't work as well the second time.

The DC hire Travis Williams was looking like a great get until late in the season. Improved the Arkansas defense over Odom by quite a bit, but the offense kept leaving them out to dry so they eventually wore down. Led the SEC in defensive scores though.

In the SEC maybe but he's definitely not up there with Frank Broyles or Lou Holtz. He's a better coach than Nutt but even Nutt has him beat with two trips to Atlanta, Petrino just didn't coach long enough at Arkansas.

This is genius. When Pittman tanks next year, you can just keep him as the most expensive OL coach in America when you promote Petrino to HC.

Don’t care how innovative he is…he simply can not be trusted. And he’s prove that over and over. But…Arkansas showed they obviously do not care that he lied ….continually…to their AD. JMO but he’s a liability.

Evidently all the piggies have forgotten what an embarrassment Petrino was. Bring back the philandering idiot. Nothing ever too embarrassing for the sake of a few wins I guess. Oh well, not our problem.
