Pittman's initial coordinators (Briles and Odom) were great. He missed them both this year.Great move by Pittman. Pittman continues to attract big name coordinators despite being on the hot seat
Is BP really good enough to root his way back in to the job that he got fired from because of his of shenanigans? I mean, I respect a great offensive mind as much as the next person (and this is not an invite for the Kiffin jockhuggers to put on their lip gloss) but he was irrelevant at A&M, as well as his swansong with Lamar…If he pulls this off, then God love him, but I can’t imagine that this will actually happen. This should be the benchmark of desperation if he does.Of course it's a good hire from an x and o standpoint. It's dumb bc he just hired the guy who's going to replace him. This isn't hard
There best coach ever? Only ruined by the "accident". Yes. Once on staff it's already ok to make him the HC.Is BP really good enough to root his way back in to the job that he got fired from because of his of shenanigans? I think the magic is over with Petrino. His second stint at Louisville was just OK (still managed to lose 4 games with Lamar Jackson's Heisman campaign) and ended horribly, and he had something of an uneven few years at Missouri St. I know he had injuries with his QBs at A&M this year, and perhaps Jimbo was still interfering, but that offense this year didn't set the world on fire. He hasn't done a thing that was particularly impressive since he fell off the motorcycle.
The DC hire Travis Williams was looking like a great get until late in the season. Improved the Arkansas defense over Odom by quite a bit, but the offense kept leaving them out to dry so they eventually wore down. Led the SEC in defensive scores though.Pittman's initial coordinators (Briles and Odom) were great. He missed them both this year.
In the SEC maybe but he's definitely not up there with Frank Broyles or Lou Holtz. He's a better coach than Nutt but even Nutt has him beat with two trips to Atlanta, Petrino just didn't coach long enough at Arkansas. There best coach ever? Only ruined by the "accident". Yes.
