Can anyone see him going to UF? If so how do you think he would do there? Seems like his style is more like Spurrier's.

I think if he went there then Malzahn would return to Arky.

Petrino's perception of flipping jobs is horrible enough. I doubt UF gives him that chance.

Of course, I could be wrong.

my thoughts exactly.

If he could hightail it in the middle of the season at the NFL, he could easily do it in college. He'll be staying at Arky as I doubt any major program or NFL team is going to be giving him a shot for a long while.

I can GUARANTEE you that no one will give him the keys to an NFL job

I'll agree with the OP though that, Malzahn would end up at Arky

Petrino would kick some tail at UF, dude can coach offense. I'd rather see Mullen there because that system, as tough as it can be to stop, still lacks balance and because of that it's easier to get pro-style QBs, RBs, and WRs out of Fla. UF will get good defensive players, they just need to be coached up.

What does Louisville 's basketball coach have to do with Florida

Not sure that there's anybody in sports whom I detest more than Petrino.

I have no doubt at all that he's already had his agent call Foley to try to get his name in the hat. "Look at what I've done for the pathetic Razorbacks with one QB and a bunch of Ozark hillbillies; imagine what I could do with Florida talent." Etc etc etc. Petrino would leave for Gainesville faster than he left Atlanta, and I'm pretty sure that his clothes and his toothbrush are still here.

I think Petrino could win in Gainesville for sure. And at least I wouldn't have to learn to hate Florida's new coach, cause I already think Petrino is a huge d'bag. And I'm not really sold on all this Malzahn to (insert name of school needing a head coach here) talk. From high school coach to the SEC in five years is a hellacious step to expect anyone to make.

I read that Meyer and Petrino were at the top of Foley's list when Meyer was hired. Could be that it'll happen this time, but I'm guessing Dan Mullen will get first offer.

I think Jeremy Foley likes the idea of not flirting with probation. One of these days, Petrino is going to get caught, and the results aren't going to be pretty for whoever his employer is at the time.

Florida can get whoever they want. They don't need to hire the next Jackie Sherrill.

I said originally I thought the realistic list for them would read like this...
Mullen
Petrino
Sumlin
Their coach will be one of those three.

I talked to a UF fan last night and he said his first choice would be Charlie Strong

I believe either one of those three couldwin at Florida. Petrino may not win a NC there but he would win

So, is anyone watching the Fkorida boards to see where Foley is? Is he trying to get Gruden(I know: he will never leave Tampa), Arkansas for Petrino, Starkville for Mullen, or is Lovie on his way?

I think their(the fans) first choice right now is Mullen, but if I were Foley, I think Petrino would be my first choice. I might hire an extra compliance guy(or three), but in terms of being able to win there(which in reality, shouldn't be all that hard), IMO, he is their best bet.
