Peyton just got benched

As a big Bronco fan, and not a Peyton worshiper...Peyton was done regardless of who was brought in as a HC. I don't blame him for being upset about it. Hard to tell the greats that age and injuries have caught up to them.

I'm curious to see what's out there in FA. The Titans won't need him. My guess are the Browns and Haslam.

I honestly can't think of any teams that would take him for anything other than a backup. His skill set is so diminished.

A backup? He's still better than a good portion of starters in the NFL.

Not at this point he isn't. That's the harsh reality. There's not a single QB starting in the NFL right now that he could beat out. He has zero arm strength and he's making bad mental errors as well. His receivers have been taking a beating trying to catch the ball when he has thrown into coverage.

His arm strength isn't good enough to beat any coverage. And safeties are playing in the box. He's just not an NFL QB at his current strength. Maybe he can get healthy, maybe not. But right now, he's not a starting caliber QB.

Name one starter that's played worse than 9 TDs and 17 picks.

That's a terrible stat, but honestly it hardly represents the way he played. He was very unlucky. I think as many as 7 of the interceptions were tipped at the line or were first touched by his target. He was sub-average, but still better than a handful of starters.

The reason no one should want Manning vs their current QB is Manning has seemingly little-to-no potential for improvement.

So to name a few starters:

Foles, Mallett, and Kaepernick have all been worse this year. I might even say Andrew Luck has been worse, especially when you consider that Hasselbeck is 3-0.

None of those people are starters anymore, and Mallett isn't on a team at all. There is absolutely no way Luck was playing worse than Peyton was.

Among actual starters (not injury replacements), I'd take him over Keenum, maybe Gabbert, maybe Sam Bradford. That's about it.

You know that in professional football opposing QB's are never on the field at the same in head to head competition, right?

Whaaaaa?!? I thought they met at the coin flip for a fist fight?!??!?
