Peyton Manning has a new biggest fan

Is this really that hard to understand? The Titans and Colts are division rivals. Fisher wearing a Manning jersey is the same as Kiffin wearing a Tebow jersey. It's disrespectful to his boss, players, and fans. If he wants to feel like a winner, maybe he shouldn't put such a pathetic excuse for a football team on the field.

And actually no, not at all

it's not at all like that b/c - other than some fans - the teams don't have hatred between them. Fisher and Dungy don't have any bad blood between them (if anything thing these two respect each other) as opposed to meyer and Kiffin.

Likewise, the team organizations (Titans-Colts) don't share the same anymosities like opposing University sports programs do.

It was a CHARITY EVENT people....you know, a fundraiser for a non-profit organization that HELPS Middle Tennessee youth

it's for the kids people

....if you people (not just those quoted) are really getting pissy about team loyalties at a freaking charity event....you need to sit down and rethink some things

Bingo. Non-issue. :good!:

I'm not sure why you quoted me but perhaps you'd like to re-read my first statement.

I did love his apology. He pretty much said that you should just get over yourself if you are offended by this.
Wasn't he introducing Tony Dungy somewhere? If that's the case, then I don't think it's a big deal.
Then again, I wouldn't want to see John Fox in a Matt Ryan jersey.

The "feel like a winner" comment is more questionable than the just wearing the jersey.

No it's not. It's ridiculous that you guys are reaching like this. The guy was at a Charity event and making fun of himself. If you're offended you need to grow up. Period.

When your team is winless, you should know that every little thing will be put under a microscope. If the Titans were 6-0 this season, this event wouldn't have even been mentioned.

And the argument that it was for a children charity is moot. He could have wore a Titans jersey or took some Titan players. Besides, how many small children from middle Tennessee are Manning fans? I'm guessing it's not as many as most people want to believe.

But I guess I need to grow up, and go support my biggest rival while I'm failing.

Alot of times, charity events invite grown ups who have money. I'd guess Manning, Dungy, and Fisher all had fans in the audience.
Super Bowl-winning coach and best-selling author Tony Dungy will be RocketownÂ’s keynote speaker at the local non-profitÂ’s luncheon fundraiser on October 20, 2009. Special guest appearances include TitansÂ’ Coach Jeff Fisher, Grammy Award-winner Vince Gill and Martina McBride. Founded in 1994 by Michael W. Smith, Rocketown serves Middle Tennessee youth.

This is the dumbest thing I've ever read... but I need to grow up so I'm not for sure.

You said that basically Fisher was rooting for Indy because he wore a Manning jersey to a CHARITY event. 1000x dumber than anything I have ever said.

Yes, you still need to grow up.

The Titans biggest rival right now, are themselves. This is much ado about nothing. The man was being funny, and wearing a jersey. Dont let an 0-fer start to a season ruin your day.

No, I said supporting the baby horses, not rooting for them.

For someone telling me to grow up, you need to grow your reading skills.

- PM went to UT and that's why Fisher used his jersey
- Fisher and the Titans said some pretty crappy things about UT football when they came to TN

If I had been PM I would have told him to take it off and show respect for the best team in the state before donning my jersey again. Fisher is just looking for anything to keep him in place after the masterful job he's doing this season

Grasping at straws. Not surprising from someone, who in fact.....

...needs to grow up...

13-3 to 0-6. Add in a loss of 59-0 and stir in a little controversy...

This is BEAUTIFUL

Can I get a quick refresher on what he said about UT?

As I Colts fan and a Titans hater I can say I agree with you. If we were 0-6 and the Titans were 5-0 and Caldwell put on a Chris Johnson jersey and said he wanted to feel like a winner I would be really mad at him. To me the comment was the worse offense.

its not the first time a coach has been in front of a bunch of people paying money and made himself look like a fool. the other deal turned out ok, and so will this.

i am in no way a titans fan by the way.

I guess ESPN should grow up also. They have mentioned this incident several times today.

Considering Dungy was there, Fisher should've wore a Tom Brady jersey or maybe even an authentic Bill Belichick hoodie with the sleeves cutoff. That way he could make his winner joke and make it a slight job at Dungy as well as himself.
