Peyton Manning takes a shot at Phil Simms

Well, the flesh may be weak, but the spirit still has a perpetually impatient look on its face.

The decision of Colts quarterback Peyton Manning to show up unannounced and meet with the media included a comment about the recent ridiculous remarks from Phil Simms of CBS and Showtime that Manning won’t “let” the Colts draft Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck.

“I don’t talk to Phil,” Manning said, via Phillip B. Wilson of the Indianapolis Star. “Phil doesn’t talk to me. He did text me after that, saying ‘Hey, sorry to drag your name into this.’ I wrote back, ‘Phil I don’t know what you’re talking about.’ He said, ‘Well on my show, Inside the NFL, I made this statement.’ I said, ‘Phil, I hate to break it to you, but I don’t watch your show, along with a lot of other people that I don’t think watch that show.’ Giving himself a little more credit than probably was merited.”

Damn.

I’ll be right back, after I order an authentic Peyton Manning jersey.

Phil is an easy target, he sets himself up for it.

This means that Matt Simms will now have to confront Peyton.

Don't worry, he will wait a second too long to throw all his punches telegraphing to Peyton when theyre coming & they will be underthrown and ultimately will not connect.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong...

but what does this have to do with Tennessee or Manning being a Vol For Life? Other than the fact that Manning attended this University over a decade ago and Phil Simms' son currently attends.

Is being a grad of Tennessee and being snarky to the media about something that has nothing to do with the Vols being a Vol For Life?

Agree, but I was glad to see a thread that wasn't about Dooley or uniforms so I opened

Matt couldn't hit the ground with 3 throws...His dad is just trying to stay relevant...

I beg to differ.....he can, in fact, hit the ground (with body or ball) whenever he has opportunity...

So Peyton better wear shin guards or else Matt will skip a ball perfectly off the ground 10yds short of him.
