Peyton's the reason I became a Vol fan. Can't remember seeing another guy with so much pride for his school.

Man does nothing half Arse!!!! Love you 16

P.S. my best friend used to be married to Joe's niece, he is a true class act as you can tell he has survived three coaching changes and hopefully his last for awhile.

I'm trying to break down Cutcliffe's terminology here:

Flip Right Duo, X-Motion, Fake Roll 98 Block Pass Special

Flip- Either it means we are resetting the TE pre-snap or
the name of the formation is right, and we are now telling the offense to run the formation strong left.

Duo- Probably a twins set, telling X and Z to align on the same side of the field.

X-Motion- obviously a motion, probably towards the line of scrimmage as if he's going to seal the playside DE or LB.

Fake Roll- Bootleg?

98- Either it's the name of the run play that we are faking, or it's the name of the route combination that we are running.

Block Pass Special- Name of the pass protection, maybe. Or maybe special is a tag on the 98 route.

The names of football plays always amazes me. There's a lot going on there.

No. Manning wastes too much time and effort on character, committment to team, preparation, leadership qualities, demanding effort from his teammates, loyalty and winning.

Ok, since we are sharing stories, I am from Indiana. Before PM and beyond I have always been a UT fan, loved the Orange and east Tennessee. As a very young child I visited the area with my family, my uncle was a steel worker from the area and he took me to a special place in Knoxville to show me this incredible football stadium at the age of 6. It was one of the largest stadiums I had ever seen, that is when I become a fan of UT. 7 years ago I had the chance to take a job and move to east Tennessee, I quit the job I had and took the biggest chance I have ever taken in my life, so far it has worked out and found a really great Tennessee woman in the mean time. I currently am a 4 yr season ticket holder and with the CBJ as our new coach the same excitement I felt back when I first visited the stadium is back, I hope to stay....Go Vols

He's probably saying....Joey, this one is yours.

100 years from now, when most of us are long gone, people will still discuss who the great quarterbacks in history were; who was the best.

Peyton Manning will still be at or near the top. Very proud that he was a Vol before he went on to become legendary

Sorry, but you're wrong. PM was saying that THIS play is all part of the process of winning the National Championship in '98. HE KNEW

Thank you for this! This brought back so many memories for me as I was a 24 year old and a VFL. Some comments after watching this-
1. John Ward is the pinnacle for sportscasters. Right up there with Mel Allen, Jack Buck, Pat Summerall, and Dick Enberg for me.
2. John Anderson is the perfect compliment to Ward. Vastly under-rated IMO.
3. Damn, what a roster. Looking back, there was a nice blend of NFL talent BUT better than average D-1 talent-
Benji Shuler
Jermaine Copeland
Andy McCullough
Billy Ratliff (fell on the Stoerner fumble)
Joey Kent
Tyrone Hines
Bill Duff (the stuff of Eddie George to preserve the bowl win)
I can go on and on. We were spoiled starting with Heath and going on CONSISTENTLY thru the early years of this century. But what always remains the same with me- GO BIG ORANGE!

You're welcome and those were, indeed, the days.
