Peyton talking to Peterman when Worley went out

I'm under the impression that CBJ is red-shirting Dobbs knowing he's our only hope next year. I'm not saying he'd put Peterman in the game if Dobbs was head over heals better, but I'm think CBJ realizes Peterman mental can't cut it. If Worley were to go down all season, God forbid, I'd expect Dobbs to be starting the next game. In the heat of the moment I can see why CBJ went with Peterman and it was probably the right choice. Dobbs could end up like Worley this year down the road and if he does we are going to want him to have more then one year of eligibility. I think CBJ is looking long term to 2016 when we should compete for the SEC Chapionship, and I think he realizes Dobbs is our best chance of winning down the road unless one of the freshman next year comes in and wows everyone.

Don't forget that both times he's been in SEC games, those games have been in front of rather hostile road crowds. He didn't look too bad in Neyland against Utah St.

The next time I see Peterman I hope he's waving his diploma at the crowd as he exits the podium. Great high character individual... but sadly, not the answer for Team 118 or Team 119.

Butch's today's press for Dobbs and Peterman.
(On redshirting sophomore quarterback Josh Dobbs)
"We'll see. We'll see how that goes. In a perfect world, yes, but Josh is prepared to play each and every week. As we've come to know around here, you're one snap away. Sometimes, you're two snaps away. He gets valuable reps in practice just like [Nathan Peterman], but Nate has done a great job in practice. I thought Nate did some good things when he got into the game. We just can't turn the football over."

"Look here son, I once had to play due to injuries...."

Felt bad for the kid really. It seemed like Jake wanted to keep the defense honest by calling al those three step drop plays but really georgia just didn't care and brought the house every play. A few quick slants, swing passes or screens probably would have done the trick.

I think you nailed it.

Gotta hand it to him though... Peterman can take a shot and pop right back up. He just needs to work on his progression a little faster and get the ball out of his hands. That comes with reps.

Playcalling was bad. Jake is oblivious to the reality that you cant plug and play quarterbacks in the sec.

I agree, when Petermen came in ,Georgia cut the dogs loose, where where the Draw plays, quick screen and quick passes at ?

has Petermen got any reps during practice thru the week ? he hasn't been in good situations when he has been put in

and what does it say about Dobbs ?

Doesn't fit the narrative.

Agreed. Both his opportunities to "come in an save a game" have been against ranked opponents at a time in the game their defense was making a statement. Hard to find a rhythm. I believe he'll get better.

The Christians had better chances against the lions in the Coliseum!

GO VOLS!

It says there isn't enough separation between Dobbs and Peterman to burn Dobbs' redshirt. When asked at the presser yesterday, CBJ said in a perfect world he would like to redshirt Dobbs, but he is prepared to play.

I'm not going to criticize him too much because of the situations he was in but he has a bad case of nerves. He looked terrified to be on the field.

Disagree. We need him to stay ... Yes, we have some incoming talent next year, but those don't always pan out and we aren't exactly flush with QB's right now. I'm hoping that whatever time he receives this year and the spring will bring Peterman to the level we need him at for next year. Although, I would honestly rather see Dormady win the starting spot as early as possible.

I agree.....by all accounts the coaches say without exception that NP is the hardest working and most knowledgeable of the system of the three QB's....now the obvious thing is it hasn't translated to success for him....and I agree he's been thrown to the proverbial wolves every stinking time....His character is OFF THE CHARTS and a lesser man would have baled on us long ago....If we've learned nothing else its be careful what you wish for...you might get it....as in a transfer.....but something in me wishes he'd transfer and become ultra successful in another system....
