"Peyton"

Agree! I'm 29 years old and have been watching Peyton from his first snap in college. For me I was 10 years old when he was a freshman. That was really when I started to develop and take in more of the game. I remember some of Heath and vaguely Andy but Peyton I remember it all from day one! Its been a blessing to follow and watch one player for two decades. IMO I think he is the ultimate professional athlete. He studies the game like no other, respects the game, respects the former players who paved the way before him, true leader, winner, class act on and off the field, says all the right things, etc.

I don't miss a game of his nor have I ever. Its like an art how he dissects defenses. The Manning's are first class. Archie & Olivia have done an outstanding job raising their boys. Peyton Manning is my favorite player cause of everything I stated and the first player I really remember the most out of all the others before him in my time. Glad he's a VFL! Go Vols!!!

I am also 29 and I think it was cool reliving some of peyton s greatest moments. The Alabama game his sophomore year sticks out in my mind. I remember how excited my dad was when Peyton and company blew them out. Only now do I truly see the relevance of this game with Alabama beating us multiple years in a row again. I now understand the hatred for all thing Alabama . I can't wait until the tables turn and we are beating the tide with regularity again. Butch please ...

. He wears the #18 for his brother Cooper. When he got to UT 18 was taken. Cooper's number in high school was 18, which was also his number at Ole Miss. When Cooper could not play anymore due to health issues, Peyton chose to wear his number and to play for his older brother. The family has class!

Kinda like A Rod; the best until the playoffs start.

You on the right forum?

ON TOPIC - will be interesting to see how the Heisman vote is treated when he has all the NFL records. I am still pissed about that crap!!!

Wasn't Archie the original #18 in the Manning family?

I don't care what anyone says...Peyton Manning was/is simply the best! The best ever in my book. I have always been so impressed with the way he carries himself on and off the field. His physical skills are unquestionable and his leadership ability is remarkable. His dedication to the best sport on earth (in my opinion) is unbelievable. This man has represented himself and this university with such class. I know that may people feel the same way. Having watched "The Book of Manning" last night, I just felt the need to show my appreciation to one of the greatest ever. And before someone tries to be cute with the "but when he was at UT he mooned another player in the locker room with a female present!!! Get over it. (I'm sure she did)

He's a big cry baby. "You can't tackle me by the neck" and on and on and on.

Peyton Manning is an amazing ambassador for the University of Tennessee, the NFL and on and on. He is simply the best. After watching the Book of Manning....I just have even more respect the entire Manning family. Archie and Olivia are wonderful people and tremendous parents. I was in awe.

I agree 100%, Peyton is a class act from the ground up. He is a great representative of the University of Tennessee. My daughter named my grandson Peyton and I was so proud. I must admit thought, after watching the espn special , i feel Peyton will be taking som ribbing from his current teammates because of the "whinning" on the films when he was young. It was hilarious. It just shows the competitiveness he has always possessed. But a little warning to the teammates, I believe he has the ability to get back at you if you rib him too much LOL. The mannings are a remarkable family and certainly one to emulate.
GO VOLS

The part that sticks in my mind is how at a very young age Peyton found tapes of his dads game broadcasts from Ole Miss and he spent hours listening to them. He pictured in his mind the plays as Archie ran them, and knew all of the players around his dad and can still tell where each was from. Also, as a rec leager he told the coach they lost because you don't know what you are doing! Archie drove him to the coaches house and made him ring the doorbell and apologize.
Peyton started very young really learning the game and the position, maybe better than any player in history. I saw a reporter ask Bill Belichik if he ever talked to Peyton Manning, and he said yeah! And every time I do I learn something about football I didn't know before! That about says it all !

The University of Tennessee could not create/design/build a better ambassador than Peyton Manning.

He's simply the best QB we have had in most of our lifetimes.

But Best Ambassador? So Al Wilson shouldn't be considered? Conredge Holloway? Inky? Just sayin not sure I would say he's the best ambassador like there are not many others. He's on of our best and also one of many.
