Peyton's Homecoming (Denver vs Indianapolis)

Why would I be trolling? Because there are a bunch of Peyton fans in this thread and they're biased?

Did Luck flop? Yes. But Vickerson should never had touch him. It wasn't like the ball was just released. It was 4 or 5 seconds after the play. And you cannot touch a QB when there is no activity going on. You should be flagged for such stupidity. If Peyton flopped, most of you would say how heady a play it was to recognize the situation.

You would call unsportsmanlike penalty on literally Every. Single. Play.

So you really think that was worthy of a personal foul? Straight face?

Glad the game is over now I can go back to loving Peyton. Colts win all other teams in division lost great day. Good night

Saying "has the refs in their back pocket" doesn't suggest that?

Maybe I missed it then. :) And I'm too lazy to go back and look.

Regardless, when I bash the officials, which I enjoy doing sometimes, I don't mean they are on the take. Like I posted above, I think some officials have tendencies that benefit particular styles of play. That's all.

There was a lot of contact between receivers and secondary tonight. Sometimes you get those calls and sometimes you don't. I certainly think several flags could have been dropped within the pass interference rules as I understand them.

Yeah. He made contact with the QB in a way that should not have been made five seconds after the ball is thrown in the current state of the NFL, which is to put skirts on the QB, that should be called.

Want to complain about the NFL and how it protects QB's? Be my guest.

I'd like reiterate that the call effected the outcome of the game zero. It only bothers me cause it was the worst call I've seen it some time. I'd feel the same if Luck, Peyton, or even my grandmother was the QB.

It wasn't roughing and it wasn't even close. I can only assume the ref didn't see it and just saw Luck fall out of the corner of his eye and threw the flag. I hope for his sake (and the league for that matter) that's what happened.

The play I'm talking about, Welker definitely made contact.

I don't really know which one you are referring to. The ones I saw looked legal and I don't recall Collinsworth commenting on any fouls. The only thing I remember him saying is that some teams get fouls on those plays, but he noted how the Broncos receivers do a good job of not making contact.

So is your argument because the quarterback was touched or the fact that it was five seconds after the play?

Regardless, we both know those rules are interpreted differently by different officials on different days. Either that or some refs just choose to look the other way.

Both.

And yes you are right.

It probably wouldn't have mattered, but the ending might have been a tad more interesting. Like Verc pointed out, they would have needed the onside recovery and they didn't get it.

It's not a penalty. I really don't know what else to say.

Collinsworth also.said the deep ball toward the end wasn't a penalty, that the colt was making a play on the ball.
