for one thing I watched an interview where he said he still wants to race in 2012, but there's no way his body would handle doing all 8 events at 27 years of age.

I also fully expect him to remain healthy his whole life. Bodybuilders and other elite athletes know how to turn on and off carbo loading for their purposes. I think while he won't be the lean machine he is now, he'll never be mistaken for someone out of shape.

they also mentioned that he's never been able to break 200 pounds either.

i don't think that when he retires, it means he won't ever set foot in the pool again. i'm sure he will continue to swim for the rest of his life, just not in meets and competitions.

Exactly. He'll keep a workout regimen, it will just decrease significantly. And with that, carbo loading will decrease significantly.

And volsgal, according to reports, between his Speedo, Visa and i believe PowerBar endorsements, he's already cashing in 5 million off that alone this year. I'd say he's already wealthy.
