Well let's be honest - it was a move for athletics and not for academics. That said, the NCAA says that's fine and St. Joe's is definitely being richard-like on this issue.

He left St. Joe's for a year with UAB. He didn't exactly transfer to UNC. I could be too naive here, but this sounds like it's about academics, with basketball being a #2 priority. I doubt he made this move because he thinks it will put him on a faster track to the NBA.

Agree. I read the whole story and I feel sorry for the kid. The NCAA really did drop the ball because it's not his fault they don't offer a graduate degree. Too bad.

Well, if everything according to his side of the story is true then it is incredibly messed up. I would love to hear St. Joe's side of it.
