We play 10 others

Clumsy with the keyboard - 8-4 is the bottom 11-1 the top, unless its 1983 all over again in T Town (although '83 was in Birmingham) we could be NC's or Gator Bowl bound. Way too early to tell.

Virginia Neutral Site WIN Vols too much for middle of road ACC team
Austin Peay – Home WIN Obviously
Florida – Away TOSS UP Leaning Vols Gators don’t have it together this early.
UTSA – Home WIN Obviously
USCe – Home WIN At Home Revenge game – defense comes to play.
TA&M – Home TOSS UP Leaning Vols we’re home, A&M has players but not a team.
Alabama – Away LOSS for the same reasons we beat the Gamecocks.
Kentucky – Away WIN we beat Kentucky cause that’s what we do!
U Conn – Home WIN only think in doubt is how bad.
Missouri – Away WIN possible trap game but we just outscore them 56-35
Georgia – Home TOSS UP dawgs are better on paper but so was Bama last year, decided in the 4th qtr on someone’s mistake.
Vandy – Home WIN only way its not over by half is if we have win over GA hangover.

Heupel was in the game at the end of the 3rdQtr in ‘21 @ Bama with about half the team he’ll have this year. And Bama won’t have a Heisman QB. I’m not predicting victory but I’m sure not counting it an automatic loss. It will be Alabamas 5th straight SEC game.

How are we beating Georgia? They out talent us at every position. Did we suddenly bring in a plethora of 5 stars on the defensive and offensive lines you know where they have absolutely manhandled us the last two years. Georgia will beat us again cause we won’t be able to handle their blitz packages and lockdown secondary coverage and they have considerable more depth at every key position. We can beat Florida though and get payback on South Carolina and maybe beat A&M but we aren’t beating Georgia.
We’ll score more points than them, that’s how. The game isn’t played on paper and star ratings aren’t everything. If they were, we wouldn’t have have beat Bama in 2022.

People are assuming that UGA won’t miss Stetson Bennett and I think that’s a bad assumption.

Sure they do, but we'll not go 8-4.

You’re attempting to state your hopes/wishes/desires as facts. Those are different things.

The fact is there’s more than 4 teams on our schedule with rosters talented enough to beat us, even though we are probably more talented than many of them

Talked to Thornton a couple weeks ago. He said Milton couldn't overthrow him. I like his confidence, but I'm not sure he's seen Joe going full rocket launcher.
Hes seen it more than we have in practice. But Joe will overthrow, that arm of his is a double edged sword. When it misses it will miss badly. When it hits, we will think hes a first rd talent.

Are you predicting 8-4?

Are you predicting 8-4?

That’s not the question. The question is “is 8-4 a realistic outcome” and the obvious answer is yes. If I had to make a prediction, I’d say 9-3.

But you can’t say as a fact that 8-4 isn’t happening. It’s very possible.

This. People can doubt it all they want. We’re beating Georgia in 2023 and we’re going to Atlanta.

Would LOVE to win the East in its final year. I wouldn’t be surprised if both UT & UGA are undefeated going into that game—would be absolutely bonkers hype.

This will shock some people but every qB overthrows some receivers. Yes it will happen this year too.

Star ratings aren't everything but they're about 90% of it. Yes we beat Bama last year and that that was great but it's hard to regularly out-coach teams that have more talent than you.
Instead of saying we "can't beat UGA" a better statement would be were "unlikely" to beat them until we're closer in talent.

We've signed 1 5* player in the last decade and he likely won't play this year unless Milton is hurt. UGA has signed 14-15 in the last three years.

Stars matter....you can't convince me that Kirby is some X & O guru that just out schemes everyone.

There was a study done over a 20 year period and the teams that won the NC had a trailing 4 year recruiting average around 5th in the nation.

One aberration was Auburn with an average of 15 and that was overcome by a once in a generation season by Cam Newton.

I think Joe will do just enough and we’ll lean on the running game more and the defense is slightly better. 9-3, but possibly 10-2 if we catch a break. 8-4 or less would be disappointing.

You listing Georgia as a toss up is comical!

I see 5 guaranteed wins on that schedule, along with 4 toss ups and 2 likely losses. Georgia is NOT a toss up and KY and USCe are NOT gimmes.
