I doubt it's true and see the TBA event as more indication Bonnarro is happening, but I have read this a couple times here and there.

i'm curious to see how this is going to work out with no alcohol sales in the venue.

if there's one thing the crowds at the "jam band" shows love, it's their cold beer. i know Widespread Panic sets alcohol sales records everywhere they go. i've done my fair share of contributing to some of those records too.

I would put the odds of a Ryman Phish show at 1 percent. Too small for too central an area. I would say zero, but they are playing a 7500 venue in Asheville.

I wouldn't count it out. I've seen Trey and John Fishman play there in the past couple of years and I've seen many bands play there that could easily sell out a larger venue. Also, Nashville has a reputation in the industry as being a tough town to sell tickets due to all the high quality music that you can see just about any night of the week at little or no cost. There are alot of people like me who will pay for a high dollar ticket to see a relatively intimate show at the Ryman, but there are very few acts that I am willing to go somewhere like the Sommet Center for. I probably average over a show month at the Ryman over the course of a year but I've never been to any concert at the Sommet Center. All that said, you may be right.

hey if anyone has ever been to a concert at TBA, how do they arrange seating? is it 360 degree seating or just the half in front of the stage?

edit: i know it is PHISH, but how is the security for concerts?

Security at TBA isn't the worst, but it's a completely smoke free building so just be discreet if you are doing that. Seating is 360 degree for Phish.

I'm leaving on Friday for Hampton Sat and Sun. Can't wait.

If it ends up being like Hampton and what the rumors are saying, there isn't going to be much of a shakedown this time around. They really curbed it a lot in Hampton. You could walk around having beers and so forth, but merchandise/food vending was closed down most anywhere close to the arena.

It was drastically different than the last reuinion shows in Hampton.

The KPD has been pretty cool for the shows I've been at the Tennessee and Bijou, but nothing the size of Phish. I guess all we can do is hope.

There's been very few shows at TBA that have sold more tickets than Phish. And that's mainly because of skyboxes nowdays and they aren't technically in the round.

Phish ticket demands are on another level right now. It's insane. All 4 Red Rocks shows were gone in less than 10 seconds yesterday. I had 5 orders in the Phish Lottery and all got shutout, along with a couple others here that I know. One guy next to me in Hampton said he had 37 orders in Phish's Hampton lotto and only 1 got tickets. It's just nuts. Asheville seats are hovering right around $300 right now....sick.

i have to question the sanity of anybody who pays 300+ for a ticket to see a band more concerned with banging H than playing music.

300+ for a ticket is enough to question someones sanity. But the comment about drugs is misplaced, I have seen Bob Dylan 3 times and Phish twice, if their "banging H" then they should continue to do so because that was 5 kick ass shows. Also the one String Cheese Incident show i saw was the best concert I have ever been to, I don't know if their "banging H" or not but their was a lot of drugs at the concert.
