No, you don't get it. I hate Oregon. But to pretend like they aren't any good, that we're a better program, or that Oregon couldn't compete in the SEC is just laughable. Remember those two times they ran roughshod over us? Remember when they had Nick Saban clueless defensively? But use the you love Oregon excuse since you can't actually back up any of your nonsense.

Boom.

it was tied at halftime..WSU had the ball on the Oregon 35 with 3 minutes left but turned it over on downs..its not like they scored late TDs to make it look close

Halliday then led the Cougars on a 75-yard drive, with a 54-yard pass to Morrow covering most of the distance. River Cracraft caught a 5-yard touchdown pass in the end zone to tie the score at 31-31 with 8:57 to go.

Oregon came right back with a 79-yard drive in nine plays, with Mariota passing to Lowe for a 6-yard touchdown pass and a 38-31 lead with 5:33 left.

The Cougars weren't done, as Halliday's 34-yard pass to Vince Mayle brought WSU to the Oregon 35. But Washington State stalled and turned the ball over on downs with 3:34 left.

Ok, so you showed me from the recap that, yes, they kept up but that they weren't really in a position to win it at the end?

Their drive fizzling at around the 40 isn't really almost beating someone....

Who in the Big10 is going to beat Ohio State? Michigan with their 6 recruits and 90th ranking?
Michigan 2015 Football Commits

Ah man. It's a shame that there aren't already players on that roster...too bad we no one other than freshmen play football games anymore.

Or that any of the other teams in their division, like say a Michigan State, aren't any good.

Guess they'll just be able to play their 3rd string and walk-ons through the Minnesotas and maybe the Wisconsins all the way to Orange or Cotton Bowl.

Yeah...they've got at least 4 PAC-10/12 Championship trophies, a Heisman trophy, a Fiesta bowl trophy, and 2 Rose Bowl trophies in there...and played in two national titles.

And all of that just in the last 6 years.

Yep Oregon has a solid program. They just can't win the big one. Knight had elavated that program to what it is. As hard as it is to say Ohio State is damn good.

College football is cyclical. From the 90s to early 2000s Tennessee was much more successful than Oregon. Over the last decade Oregon has been more successful than Tennessee.

Oregon will fall and Tennessee will rise.

This is just a sour grapes thread by the op. They may not have won the big one, but conference titles are nice too. As a matter of fact I would like to see us add one to our case sometime soon.

Same was said about us after 1997. It's the dumbest cliche in sports "can't win the big one." Peyton has a Super Bowl so he won the big one. Are conference title games not big ones? What about the first round of the college football playoff? Those are all big ones.
