Men's tennis - ranked NCAA number 1 in 2022, back-to-back appearances in the national semifinals (2021 & 2022), and is currently ranked #2 in the SEC (#6 in the country).

Adding the Lady Vols Basketball on here is a travesty...they have played 2 conference games.... saying they are #2 in the SEC is cherry picking stats.

This right here shows the differences between people. I looked at this list and was like, wow…I had no idea how competitive we are in every area.
You looked at this list and all you could do was point out what you believe is a mistake and broadcasted to everyone to be negative. How fun you must be.
Fine work. We definitely shouldn’t be proud of our program.

No, I look at this list and see a team that is 10-6 and has lost to every ranked team we have played. I also don't see anything to be 'proud' of as I remember the level the Lady Vols should be playing at. This team currently isnt meeting the standard Pat set!

There are players that didn't lose 6 games in their career, much less in the first half of the season.

Not being negative just dont live life with rose colored glasses.

You really think this Lady Vols team is meeting the level set by Pat?

Your past posts were not happy with the football team winning 60% of their games, but you are happy with the Lady Vols doing it?

What I was pointing out is that while you looked through that list the only thing you could find worthy of commenting on was something negative. And let’s be real how many teams in America can live up to the standards that Pat set. We may never see that again. So holding every team to that standard may be ridiculous and unrealistic. That’s like saying we need to hold every football team to the standard we set in 1998 and if that standard is not met, it’s a failure. Regardless of circumstances. I’m not saying we should be happy with the state of the basketball program. What I’m saying, again, is that with all of the great things that the other sports teams are doing at Tennessee you chose to highlight the negative.

So your goal each August isnt to go undefeated and win the NCAA championship?

Plus the 1998 team did it once, Pat did it year after year and that should be the standard.

Phil won 9-11 games each year and was fired when he stopped doing that.

What you are doing is making mediocrity acceptable, except you did not like it for the football team so why do it for the Lady Vols?

If the football team went 7-5 each year would you be happy?

1) If you are not a regular reader of the Lady Vols Basketball forum, don't start. This attitude is more the normal and not the exception. I thought the football forum was brutal until I started reading the Lady Vols Basketball forum.

2) If you can't see the improvement this Lady Vols Basketball team has made from November until now, you are not watching very closely. This is a completely different team and growing by the day. We will be ranked by the end of the year and going to cause so many teams problems.

3) Women's college basketball is not the same as when Pat coached - while I have no doubt she would still excel and be the best coach in the country, other teams have caught up. And not only us, look at UConn (as bad as I hate to) - they are not the dominating force that they once were - other teams have caught up.

OP, good post.
I am not trying to be messy ... but since you said any sport ... where is UT Men's soccer? It is time! Lot's other big football schools also have men's soccer ... why can't we have it? Some SEC schools have it. Why can't we?
