3) Women's college basketball is not the same as when Pat coached - while I have no doubt she would still excel and be the best coach in the country, other teams have caught up. And not only us, look at UConn (as bad as I hate to) - they are not the dominating force that they once were - other teams have caught up.

I shouldn't have to 'see improvememt and be ranked by the end of the year' we should never not be ranked. Right now you are OK with The University of Tennessee women's basketball team NOT being one of the top 25 teams in the country?

I am not OK with that, I expect more, but I also don't accept mediocrity and give everyone a participation trophy.

Plus the 1998 team did it once, Pat did it year after year and that should be the standard.

Phil won 9-11 games each year and was fired when he stopped doing that.

What you are doing is making mediocrity acceptable, except you did not like it for the football team so why do it for the Lady Vols?

If the football team went 7-5 each year would you be happy?

That’s not what I said at all. All I’m saying is you choose to seek out things to crap on while others get excited and celebrate progress we haven’t seen in a long time as an athletic department overall.

Well, we are an everything school lol.. and strong on the academics too.. See, we can have both 😂 I wasn’t too sure about Plowman, but I think she is doing an amazing job

I am excited about the athletic department, just not the Lady Vols. Getting excited about them being 2nd in the SEC after 2 games is fooling yourself. They have lost to every ranked team they, are you really excited about that?

Last time to explain this. No. I'm not particularly excited about that. I am excited, however, about the direction of our Athletic Department as a whole and thought it was awesome to see the achievements of so many different sports. That was the intention of the OP...to point out that we are having success while continuing to build. You decided to ignore all of the successes and find something negative in it all. Congratulations! Can't get anything by you! How dare fans celebrate growth even if it's not across the board and not up to the standard we want in every sport.

Ok last time explaining this to you....it is pretty simple to rational and logical people.

We all are excited about the direction the UT athletic department is going BUT DO NOT include the Lady Vols in those accomplishments because they are playing below expectations.

So in a list like the OP produced, leave the Lady Vols off that list.

The Lady Vols bball team is now 3-0 in the SEC. I was ready to run all the coaches out of town but then I looked back at the losses against all the ranked opponents. With Jackson, we would've beaten Stanford. She also missed two other games that we really could've used her. I'm not trying to use excuses but the Bulls wouldn't have been the same without Jordan either. Don't stress. This team IS a top 25 team and should finish no worse than 3rd in the SEC. This team with all the transfers is starting to gel. Now do I want to accept not being #1? Absolutely not! We have room to improve to get back to being elite but we are no longer the dumpster fire under Warlick.

3-0 in conference now and ranked number 12 in the nation by her hoop stats.

We USE to have men's soccer up until 1987. They dropped the program because of title 9 and those of us who were on scholarship got F2C**! They made us a club sport and since they didn't bother to inform us until 3 weeks prior to school starting, the whole team was together for that year. No other school in the SEC had soccer (only club level like us) except Vandy and we KILLED them 4-0. We won the SEC easily for 2 years then I moved on. I have no idea if they still even have a club team. If they do get a varsity team again, they would be great as so many kids from TN play on top 5 programs.

Voters aren't considering strength of schedule or advanced analytics.

This team is trending in the right direction and should win their next 5... At which point they will have won 12 of their last 13 with the only loss being on the road against Stanford, a game they were leading in the 4th qtr.

Good! Glad to hear it. Sounds like they are playing better. SoS does not work for you unless you win some of those tough games. They still have lost to every ranked team they gave played.
