Grooving a 3-2 fastball against arguably the best hitter in the conference, so yes. Kinda helps to look at the time of the post.

So is that a "lack of intelligence" or maybe a physical mistake of missing a spot?

I am sure you pitched a lot of years at a high level and always made the most intelligent decisions and never missed your spot

When it's happened as many times as it has this season, it's hard to say that it was just a mistake.

Keep being you-sarcasm and put downs. You must have been something in your day.

No sarcasm at all. Lingo and Crochet are our only two mlb prospect type pitchers we have.

We are calling a pitcher irgnorant for throwing a 3-2 FB down the middle and it getting crushed. When your Friday night guy is 5-ft-10 and throwing 86-87 tops you aren't getting away with mistakes. It takes more talent than that.

Not putting anyone down just pointing out we don't have SEC winning talent on our pitching staff.

We all have our opinions and that’s fine. But I will disagree. I have watched many SEC games this year other than UT games, and we have more than 2 guys that are comparable in talent to other programs. Starters as well as relievers. Remember, these kids were recruited to UT and they accepted the offer to play in the SEC. Just like anyone on this thread would have done. What I see is a group of pitchers that scratch and claw and give everything they have each time out. They compete. What we may lack in superstars, I think they make up for in effort. Pitching is not our biggest weakness. Don’t disagree that we could use a few more studs, but this group is performing at a pretty decent level.

I think this staff is getting all they can out of the staff. I am pleased with their production. Pleased so much I don't think it's fair to say they don't deserve to be called out for being unintelligent.

Well, we've already given up two, 2-strike hits in the first 4 batters faced. I'll concede the first was a good piece of hitting, but Cottam got another grooved fastball that he roped up the middle.

We don't have swing and miss stuff. It happens and will keep happening

No, but it would be great to actually make them work for it instead of saying "here's one belt high down the middle". There's a bunch of other zone places to hit. You know, the corners, up in the zone, down in the zone. But they don't.

In Ball Four, Jim Bouton remembers envying pitchers who had "pinpoint control." Soon into his career, he realized "pinpoint" in pitching was actually within a foot or so and he's talking about major league guys.....

The plate is only 17" wide. So, being within more than 70% of it is not unreasonable.

So let's cut to the chase

What was the highest level you pitched at?

Crickets of course....

Outside of the relief pitching on Saturday, our staff held their own against a really good offense. Just need to keep that up and see how far we can go.
