I heard we were very close to hiring him after we fired Pruitt was there any truth to that? He would’ve been a great hire IMO he’s done a great job at Minnesota winning the big ten in 2019 and winning 11 and 12 games in consecutive seasons that’s hard to do at Minnesota. I’m happy with the job Heupel is doing though but Fleck would’ve been a homerun hire.

He is very Butch Jonesesque. Now would we be in better situation than hiring Pruitt? Certainly. However would we different than what Jones left? Hard to say. But Flecks coaching cliches would have irritated us as we had just had Jones who cliched us to death. Thats ok as long as you are winning.

I never really understood the fascination with Fleck.

Minnesota had a good season a year or two ago, but now they have regressed back to the mean. Basically going nowhere fast.

Yes, I realize it's Minnesota and they have basically been meh for the last 50 years. Still though, going 7-5 ish routinely doesn't show he's ready for the big time. As someone else said, he is also very Butch Jones-esque with the slogans. May work in Minnesota where the national spotlight is not really on him, but put him at an SEC programs and that is going to get really old really quick.

let me put it this way... the university of minnisotta was smart enough to employ Grayson highschool.

now minn is pulling georgia, indiana is pulling south florida, and purdue is O states foil. may one of them do the job, and end this charade.
