This may be heresy, but I don't think Russell is a WNBA contender, nor is Nared. I doubt DeShields comes back, but I don't see her lasting long in the WNBA, either, due to my perception of her temperament. They all have talent, for sure, but don't see the guts that are needed. JMHO
are you serious? have you ever watched Angel McCaughtry play? she has a bad attitude but has/is learning to control it. She run Mary Nellie out of a job. DD can't be any worse

Same with Taurasi, Griner, Diggins, and others. They're still in the league.

Does anybody know if Russell or DeShields are planning to return to Tennessee for their 5th year of eligibility?

I have 0 "inside info", but based on personality types, I'll be shocked if DeShields doesn't bolt, but I think Russell likely returns.

You don't think Deshields sticks around another year to play with her buddy Cooper (especially if Cooper has to sit out this season)?

As for where Diamond could get drafted, putting her playing style aside (which many aren't a fan of) she has been battling injury issues since high school and it appears they will never be fully resolved. For that reason, if I'm a GM I wouldn't touch her with the #1 pick....

I'm surprised more players don't skip the WNBA and just play abroad where the real money is. They can rest their weary bones during the summer months at home and then head overseas in the fall refreshed and ready to go.

Seems like they play in the WNBA for the love of the game, and go overseas to cash in.

There has to be players willing to give back if the league is going to ever be successful.

You have to be 22 during the calendar year of the draft, which she will. However, as of right now she is not a WNBA-level player.
