The only down side to this game is that we gave the blue print to Florida on how to defend against the land grant university of the state of Joe T, one of the original colonies of the United States of Joe T.

Basically, use your DL and LBs to stop the run and give Joe T as much time as he wants in the pocket.

In two plays it was a 1 point swing for UT. Incredible play, hardly the play of the game.

Having the cahones to go for it on 4th down and getting 7 instead of 3, kept us close and stoked them up for the first series in the 2nd half...all downhill for Ga after that.

one more story about Joe's destiny to be a dawg and I thought I would hurl!! They really could have worked harder on that fluff piece and gotten a naked baby pic of Joe T, that would have been poetic.

The td before the end of the half was the most important, but I voted the blocked punt, just because it was nice to see special teams do something.

I think it has to be either the blocked punt for a TD or the 3rd and long pass to Meachem deep in our own territory.

Thoughts?

That throw from the 5 was a major league momentum changer, but I think blowing down the field at the end of the half was even bigger. In the stadium you sense that UGA was in great shape, but everybody realized "we can't stop these guys . . . if our offense falters we're in trouble".

Another huge play was the opening kickoff of the 2nd half where we nailed the return man on the 5. That put UGA in a situation they didn't want with a limited QB.

The one single play of the game IMO was going for it on fourth and one from the 20 rather than kick the field goal at the end of the first half.

I just happened upon this post again, and thought that it might be worth getting it back up front - just in case someone hadn't voted, since it is such a close race for the top play. (In fact, right now there are currently two plays that are tied at the top!)

3rd down conversion to Meach. The place was ROCKING on that attempt, and the completion really seemed to foreshadow what was about to happen. Bigdaddy and I commented at the time about the importance of that play.

That's why I voted for other!
we needed that td before the half so we didn't hang our heads through halftime. Huge

Stewart's INT got us right back into the game. UGA was moving the ball and his INT put up back within 3 instead of possibly down by 10 again.

all of htem were big, but the TD before the half is what set all the other stuff up.

it reminded me of the "miracle at Southbend". I remember Johnny Majors saying that right before the half when we blocked that kick and got the TD, suddenly it wasn't ND 30 something TN single digits...it was double digtis against double digits..and really swung the momentum our way...

i felt the same way after the TD at the end of the half...24-7 just looked and sounded awful. 24-14....well, not great, but not nearly as insurmountable as 24-7 sounded...and it clearly swung the momentum our way and it showed on that 1st possesion in the 2nd half.

It was a tough choice for me though...that 3rd down pass out of the end zone was HUGE too. The blocked punt, i felt, really just kind of got us even in special teams big plays. they got a couple of garbage TD's and we finally got one too. evened it up a bit in my mind....

i'm just glad there were this many big plays, FOR US for a change, to choose from!!!!

Gotta go with the INT.

We had some momentum going into the 1/2 but hadn't really stopped UGA.

This play stopped them and set us up for a TD that made it a fieldgoal game. To me, this is where the momentum really went to us.

The blocked punt was huge but we had UGA on their heels by then. We already had the MO and they countered with the KO return.
