They didnt put 7 or 8 guys in the box but just a few plays. They stopped our run game with only 3 or 4. So what does this say about our offensive line?

Tiny on the post game interview said they played a unique style of defense that was hard for them to adjust to. They had a hard time blocking their slants.

I just mentioned the same thing in another thread but you can't totally blame the oline. Piss poor play calling allowed Oregon to know what was coming. Instead of pounding the ball on third and 1 we BS around and allowed Oregon to show blitz formations without blitzing. They didn't have to blitz because they were so much faster then our RBs and QB that they could get to the line of scrimmage without blitzing to stop the run and pass. You also can't blame WRs for drops when they can't get into any flow with Worley due to his piss pour arm strength and accuracy.

Damn, Worley is an i-formation guy, not a read-option guy. Lost a little confidence in Butch over this. The system doesn't fit the personnel. Needs to change quick.

Changed it to fit personnel at Cincy when a drop back was the qb. Not sure what the deal is with Worley. If he could throw a consistently catchable ball then things might have looked a little different. Still a big loss, but not as helpless looking on offense.

This issue today was our QB and our opponent .

We have a QB that can't make basic throws. The defense is free to key on our running game. This will not keep drives alive against a team of this ability. It places our defense on the field over and over against a fast paced team that is also the fastest team in the country .

We have a QB that can do basic stuff ...we are alot more in this game than we were today .

Do we not have anything else in the playbook besides handing the ball off to Neal and sending him up the middle every play? When we actually had the ball I was expecting some progression on the field. Is Butch handicapping the passing game because our QB can't handle passing? Have the coaches not been working on building a playbook all these months past?

All serious questions.

There was absolutely no diversity in in play calling and routes.

bUTch does not trust Worley's throwing. He wants to limit the amount of throws, so as to lessen the possibility of interceptions.

Not a fact, but just a wild guess on my part.

if he don't trust worley's throwing put in peterman. nuff said.
Umm, if he doesn't trust Worley's throwing and still starts him over Peterman, what does that say about how he feels about Peterman's throwing? I don't know why that's so hard to understand.

It's time to play a qb that brings something to the table offensively. I get that butch is trying to protect the ball but it's obvious that Worley is not a d-1 quarterback. Peterman at least poses a threat to run, and he has a good arm. I'd rather see a qb that throws an occasional interception but can move the ball than one who simply does nothing for the offense.

So why did we not see this on film study? Why did we not come up with some kind of unique style?

I see you don't post much, but you hit this one out of the park.....if Jones doesn't change to fit the personel, he's not the best coach for the Job...it is what it is

^ This...and we have a QB running the read option that is zero threat to run the ball. I don't think he kept the ball one single time during today's game, not 1 time. What is the point of the fake if you can't even try 1 time to keep the opposing D honest? I expected us to lose today but both sides of the ball played terrible. Losing to better team is one thing but looking uninspired and out coached on both sides of the ball is another thing. We definitely need to regroup with a better plan before Florida.

Would have thought that would have happened the week before Oregon. At the very least I would have expected CBJ to make some kind of adjustments during the game the very second they realized what they were doing wasn't working.

During post game interviews there were a couple players who mentioned a problem with communication but didn't go into detail. I don't know if they were talking about communication between coaches and players or the Oline and QB, or both.
