Playing for a bowl today. Can we do it?

Vandy isn't all that but the are playing well. Hope we step up. We can't lose. This is for our bowl and the future of our program.

If the UT players give a crap, then yes. If they don't, they'll lose to Vandy and the hopes of going to a bowl.

Heck yea we can. I bet CBJ gives them one of his crazy speeches and gets all the players super hyped. they should have some fire tonight.

Huge game OP. As crazy as this sounds, this could be a cross roads of sorts for CBJ and staff. Win the next two, go to a bowl, and I think most if not all are behind this staff especially with the recruiting class. But, lose one of these, or God help us both, and the rumblings will begin.

Signature Win and Vanderbilt. Who'd have EVER thought we would put these two phrases together?????? But a win for VN tonight and sorry, but this will classify as a SW. Go Vols!

If UT loses either or both games to Vandy and Ky, the gnashing of teeth will heighten, some will call for his job, etc, etc ....

However, once the EEs get on campus and this highly rated class is signed and secured in Feb (no matter how we finish btw), hope and optimism will return in anticipation of Spring Practice, the Orange and White game, the 2015 recruiting class, Fall Camp and Aug 30 vs Utah State. And our team will be better, faster, quicker, stronger, more resilient, more athletic, more confident ..... and much better.

A win vs Vanderbilt is in no way a signature win. You cant claim a signature win vs a team that is an historical and perennial loser save the last 2 years. A signature win only comes vs a top ranked team, especially if that team is a traditional power. It's heightened if said top ranked team is a rival. Vandy doesn't now, nor will it ever meet any of that criteria.

You are speaking rationally and using common sense. I just think that some won't if we would lose one of the next two and they would hold onto it into next year. I dont think we will lose though. GBO!

Sure hope we win tonight.

I think Butch is our guy either way, but I'd feel a lot better about things with a win. I had felt like he had a tough task getting these guys to come out motivated and playing on fire... but I hope the bye week has erased some of the last 3 beatdowns from our psyche.

No doubt about it. I'm already a little disappointed in the team's and staff's performance coming off the last 3 blowout losses.... I will be po'd to epic proportions if we don't beat Candy and kensucky. However, as much as all of us want immediate success, it's a process. A new crop of more athletic, more confident players and the promise of a new season will help most of us put this disappointing season in the rear view.

I think we play inspired but with 3rd string qb it's hard to be super confident. If Worley was playin I say bowlgame no doubt plus bowl win. This would give us a good resume with playing uga great and beating usce and vandy which are both bowl teams. I didn't like that we didn't score more points against auburn. We could have put up another 14 points but we gave up and the offense looked confused second half. I just hope we show up. Not sure if this team has a lot of fight in them. They gave it all in two weeks mid season but since bama we have lost confidence. We played 3 top ten teams in a row. The other thing that bothers me is vandy only lost to teams that put up points. We don't do a lot of that. I say 27-21 either way. Hope VOLS come out on top.

We need to rush for a 140 yards with no turnovers and we will win, if we turn the ball over we will lose its that simple.

If Worley was playing have I missed something.:post-4-1090547912:Hey Dobbs will be playing against same type of talent, I think he will put some good numbers up like 225 passing and a couple of touchdowns passes.
