Playoffs

Ole Miss currently is sitting in the top 11 . Let’s say that we don’t go to Athens and win this weekend. That’s a very realistic possibility. Our best win would be better than theirs and their worst loss is definitely worse than ours. There is a strong narrative taking shape that at 10-2 we’re on the outside looking in, while Ole Miss would be in . That’s my point. I’ll hang up and listen .
That’s conjecture on your part. You, nor anyone else, knows how we’re going to look in Athens and how the committee will view our performance this weekend relative to next week’s rankings. Nor does anyone know how other games are going to turn out over the next three weekends. It sounds to me like many on this board are just drumming up reasons to be angry.

Because Indiana was ranked over us, after we both lose to a top team, Indiana would still be over us. So, that puts us down a peg without considering anything else. Ole Miss is already over Georgia, and Alabama's over both of them, so we'd be behind them all.

I will be happy to be wrong, but it realistically just seems like the most likely thing to happen if we lose.

Of course it’s a hypothetical. obviously there’s at least 3 games left to play before the CFP and bowl season. I’ve already seen multiple CFP projections that have us out if we lose this weekend, therefore I don’t think it’s an unreasonable concern to have.

Call me crazy. But the more I think about it, the more I think the committee is going to let Tennessee play their way back in with a quality win over Vandy. We will be right on the bubble. I don’t think loss to Georgia is the end of our playoff hope, especially if Nico doesn’t play. JMO

According to the playoff predictor, Tennessee will still have a 75% chance of making the playoff with a loss to Georgia.
