and mid season unfulfillment. If you are visiting this site for the 1st time please realize that we promote free speech around here and unfortunately that includes, ignorance, delusion and stupidity. If you are a player or a relative of a player please know that the negativity and bashing that has occurred does not represent the majority of fans of the Volnation. Most fans stand behind the young men that strap em on and "Give their all for Tennessee" even if they don't meet the fickle expectaions of we the fans. Most of us love the "Big Orange" family and know that we are a part of that family, and when a family member is down the rest of us stand behind them and help them up, not stand over them and try to tear them down. Yes, even family members have spats and disagreements from time to time, but there comes a time when you have to lay all that aside and step up and support your team , good or bad. Hopefully, this stale funk that we seem to be in will pass soon, and until it does I say
GO VOLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just know that if we, the taxpayers of Tennessee, give your kid, nephew, grandkid, friend, whatever, a free education and they do not deliver at least one 10-win season during their four years here we will deride them forever and they will wind up selling used mobile homes in Alabama.

The football program pays for the rest of the athletics that lose money and CPF's 2 million annum. I am sure that the taxpayers are ponying up something for all of this.

This is getting off point anyway. Plain and simple, most of us Vol fans (not the appologist coddlers) expect to contend for an SEC title at least 2 out of every 4 years and we expect a legit shot at a national title 1-2 times every ten years. That is the expectation. The 2005 team should be 5-1, ranked in the Top 10, and (due to Shockley's unfortunate situation) eyeing a trip to Atlanta. Instead we'vbe got what we've got and I am not happy about it. I expect better. :realmad:

Based on your criteria, we are right on track. We contended for an SEC title last year and we won the MNC 7 years ago and was 1 game away from another one 4 years ago.

Its already been proven that Alabama is a cheating program. They have been punished. Get over it and move on.

Reasoning to bammers is like trying to reason with my 5-year old.

I meant it more as a joke (with a twist of truth to it-hence the smiling face). Some didnt see it that way.

I feel like China in 1982. Everybody hates us, but the U.S. (UT) and the Russians ('bama) keep going at each other, ignoring us.

Funny. And odd considering numerous polls of Tennessee fans suggested that Florida had taken the most hated label away from Alabama until this year.

I know. Both were close losses for UT. Probably because the 'bama game was most recent. Also the fact that there is some history between the two, now. Plus, UF fans are not exactly bragging a whole lot about their football team whereas some (NOT ALL, but SOME) 'bama fans are in a bit of a frenzy over the Tide, this year. We UF folks are wallowing in self-pity with the UT fans, at the moment. We share their pain of unrealized expectations.

UF fans arent? Would a UF fans bragging about beating UGA by 2 TDs be bragging? Or, does he even know what he is talking about?

now thats sort of rude. i paid good money for season tickets this year and i feel the product on the field is not worth the money i spent. thats just my opinion, but that is how i feel. i'm a sucker for tennessee football, but if they don't make some changes in there offensive coaching staff this year my tickets will be on e-bay next year.
