Just finished an in depth series about Susan and Josh Powell called Cold. The Powell family was nuts.

I loved that Season. Personally I agreed with the host Dave Cawley's theory on how Josh did the murder and how he destroyed the murder weapon. Josh was weird enough as it is, his dad was a creep and the brother almost for sure helped. The whole thing about how he would request satellite pictures of his old car and all.

Season 2 is good too though the story isn't quite as compeling as the Powell saga. I also don't like how it is exclusive to Amazon Music; I hate how the podcast world is becoming like streaming services with exclusive podcasts.

Funny you quoted this. I just listened to another episode on it from Devious Dads podcast.

It's older now but I went back and binged Your Own Backyard about the disappearance in 1996 of Kristin Smart after they made an arrest a few months back. That podcast is pretty fascinating. I know podcasts like this can be a bit slanted and sometimes you're not given all the facts but good lord I left wondering how the hell this guy didn't get arrested until 25 years later. It's like 99.9% obvious he's the one who had to be responsible.

Golden Records is good. Queer hosts and guest (all comedians) talk about what they would have included in the capsule NASA sent out into space. Probably too gay for some here but it's pretty damn funny.

We Hate Movies
Guys review infamous bombs, iconic blockbusters, terrible movies that were successful at the box office, and other movies with comedy and wisecracks.

They give a detailed explanation for recommending the movie or not recommending the movie.

I’m very happy We Hate Reviews will be reviewing the awful sequel Robocop 3 in Detroit because they’ll have a lot to make fun of from that awful movie.

Excellent to see the new episode of We Hate Movies is of the entertaining so bad it’s good Horror sequel An American Werewolf in Paris.
A sequel that has a good romance story, the 2 main good characters are likable characters , funny scenes, etc.

If you like podcasts talking about movies, try How Did This Get Made. It’s with Jason Matzukas and the bald guy from The League. They pick a bad movie and just break it down in hilarious fashion.

I heard the criticism they just recapped the movie.
I listened to A Holiday in Handcuffs movie review that had criticisms about the movie.

I really don’t understand why Zack Snyder’s Justice League is being reviewed by them because that is a great movie.

I listen to episodes of No Such Thing as a Bad movie which has the same 3 persons reviewing a bad movie.

The most recent episode is Supernova.
I didn’t see Supernova, and I’m guessing this will be a science fiction movie that has terrible science, and other flaws that can’t be overlooked because of terrible writing.

Finished it. Man, this was so good. By the end of the investigation, you feel like you know for sure what happened. My favorite takeaway:

I don't believe in vast conspiracies. Conspiracies? Yes, but if it requires too many people to STFU, then it's probably not going to stay a secret. This was a story about a letter alleging a vast conspiracy. For a while, the letter seemed like it was part of a different vast conspiracy. But then it turned out there was no vast conspiracy at all. Just a small one.

I didn't discover the joy of listening to podcasts till early last year. I've got about 4 that I listen to heavily.

The Bear grease podcast is an excellent newer one. It's hosted by Clay Newcomb, they fall under the Meateater umbrella but they're not just hunting. They cover topics from history (Daniel Boone, Tecumseh,...) to natural history, and to just interesting county related stuff. The podcast alienates formats. One week is a documentary style podcast covering the topic. Then the following week is what they call the render, where they have a group discussion/ breakdown of the previous week.

I also listen to The Legends of the Old West podcast. This podcast has been around for a while and covers a vast amount of topics related to the "wild west" .

Legends of the Old West Podcast

Then cause I'm a herpetology nut I have 2 podcasts I listen to about that.

Snake talk podcast (very scientific)
Snake Talk - The Orianne Society

And So much pingle (informal focus on field herpetology)
Episode 83: The Sky and Sheri Show - So Much Pingle

The Opportunist is a great investigative pod series about scammers. I found out about it because they covered somebody I know, and now I've been going through the archive. Good ****. So far they've covered:

- a youth wilderness program
- an elderly caretaker
- a Christian truther

I was figuring this would just be about financial scams, but people died in every case so far.
