I like it,,,if there are 43 cars, you award 43 pts to the big winner in desending order to 1 pt for last....simplifies all for fans and drivers. will still have bonus points for leading, etc

Basically the same points system.... Only 2 or 3 bonus points for winning isn't enough to make a driver in 2nd place sit on cruise control. Raise it up to at least 5 bonus points and pay more $$$$ to the race winner and the racing will get a little more exciting.

I agree, the bonus for winning should be at least 5 points and maybe more. You have to give the guys a reason to take risks. Drivers aren't going to gamble with passing up on fuel to gain an extra point or two, they will for 5-10 points though.

They changed the system when Kenseth point raced into a championship and this 43 point system seems to reward the very thing they tried to change. They really need that bonus for winning to be big.

I would have preferred the winning bonus to be at least 5 points.

Also, they shoud ditch the bonus point for leading a lap and just reward the guy that leads the most laps.

Agree on 5 points for win, disagree on lap leader bonus. This gives an incentive to try to lead and not just cruise until the last 50 laps.

I don't see how they can change the point system once the season is underway. I can see legal litigation looming. It would be like starting the Kentucky Derby and then adding or subtracting the distance to be run.

NASCAR has been so good at reading the barometer of the fans over the last 6-8 years.

I'm a long time fan, but the changes on the fly give it a WWF aspect.
