Seriously, everyone drop their agendas for just a moment.

I saw a headline that said that tonight the country needs much more than inspiration, it needs information. Details on the plan. Facts on what will be done with the money.

I think that is absolutely right as defenders of the plan say it saves jobs and critics deride it as pork, but no one, on either side, has made a solid case in terms of actual proof for their respective claims.

The burden is squarely on Obama tonight to get into facts and figures, not goals and hypotheticals. Same can be said for Jindhal afterwards. Going to be interesting.

he needs to stop covering his arse and start making this country believe that things will be better tomorrow than they were today.

I think I will just read the "cutting edge" analysis that is the VN Politics forum tomorrow.

He's been needing to do that, add the direction of the country, since after his speech on Jan. 20th.

The man still speaks like he hasn't been elected yet. He still references the former admin. daily and about his inheirted problem. He knew exactly what he was getting into. He fought agressively to take over this problem.

The thing about it is, the White House has to have it's finger on the pulse of America. If he comes out and stays on the same path of "inheirited" "former admin." and like you said doesn't get to the bread and butter he will be clobbered on TV for the rest of the week. Yes, by Fox News.

I don't doubt that Obama will deliver a very fine address tonight. We saw throughout the campaign that, when delivering a set of prepared remarks, he's at the top of his game.

Since my missive to leave politics seems to have fallen on deaf ears, I will rephrase and ask what it is you want to hear in this speech to give you confidence that the plan might work?

For my own comfort level, I'd like ti hear the specific amounts for, say, each of the five highest amounts in the bill, how that money will be spent and monitored, and the reasoning behind its inclusion.

I could care less about the spending bill because of the clowns that are in government.

I want the clown that is president to talk about how the american people are the answer to our problems and not his precious government.

Amount, How to be implemented, What he think it will yield.

Do not, even in code language, refer the problem to anyone but himself and his admin.

I know the problem is on his admin's shoulders now. But it is well known fact that the problems stem from the previous admin, hence I'm almost positive we'll hear about it.

A 2nd grader can put together that he is inheirting a problem from Bush, but is there a need to say it time after time, after time?

He wanted hope mixed with a little bit of change. He wanted to be the one that was different and radicated Washington, well start tonight and come out saying how this is your problem now and your going to go buck ass wild fixing it.

He's just saving his ass at every turn by reminding people that it isn't all his fault when they know good and well that it isn't in the first place.

Have you taken leave of your mind. Someone posted an exhaustive list of the line items in the bill. I can't imagine a more worthless piece of garbage in a time when the same money, employed properly in taking bad assets away from banks, could actually jump start an economy.

This was simply the easiest way for Obama to reward donors and pursue his agenda without having to justify it or fight for it. He backdoored the system and it worked. Hopefully the tidal shift in the Congress two years from now will shut him down like it did Clinton. Then we have a chance at governance that we didn't have during the disastrous last administration.

Indeed, throw them aside now. Goodness knows they weren't being thrown aside during the 1500 page, 1 trillion dollar scam that was signed into law last week.

On your last point, you can read the bill to find out the amounts and for what it is intended.

I want to hear specifics on which of these new programs he will cut and when he will cut them.

I want to hear specifics on what he really believes the role of government is.

I want him to lay out exactly how he will cut the deficit in 1/2 (not just saying he'll cut Iraq and other spending).

I have a feeling it will be 3 strikes.
