OE has a ton of threads dealing with politics. Some have some decent discussions in them.

Does anyone else think we need a politics forum??

Just a thought :shades:

Sorry, :dunno:

I'll quit posting them.

I don't have a problem with it at all. I enjoy most of that stuff. We've actually talked about a subforum from time to time, but so far we've just left it in the general discussion of the Pub. If anybody has any thoughts on this, feel free to PM one of the Mods or Freak. We'd welcome the input.

I do not want to cause any problems, I came from another Tennessee web-board and the experience was terrible at best when I quit posting there.

As a frequent participant in these threads it doesn't matter to me if they remain in the Pub or are in a separate forum.

Keep em coming OE

From past experience, I've seen some political forums become pretty nasty.

I know one site that completely died because hard feelings created in the political forum spilled over into the sports forums.

If people respect one another's opinions there's never a problem.

I do not want to be accused of starting something negative. OldVol I know what you are talking about.

I try to post stuff that is political humorous for both right and left.

I know these get nasty. I've seen blogs and forums go down the toilet because of political passions. Politics and religion are the two worst topics on boards to cause problems. but to this point, we've been civil and even quite humorous. As long as we're all respectful and abide by the overall forum rules, we should be fine. Just realize there are thin-skinned people and expect some pretty heavy responses. But we're all grown ups and hopefully can roll along with anything that comes out.

My job is politics so I love a good debate. I myself am a disgruntled conservative. I fall into the category of the ones on the right very disappointed in what is going on. So my rants will be mostly against my side of the spectrum. I will hit Dems from time to time but since my side is in charge and they're botching it, I will hit them more.

I like how you think.

CSpindizzy when I first joined this web-board you had a Christopher Walken for President avatar correct?

It was up there for a while. He has a website up about running. WHo knows if it is legit. I've heard that it is but he'll only get on the ballot on NY and CA.

I think I asked you about looking at his website. Just hoping my memory was not going bad.

OE, I'm not complaining about them. I just thought it might be easier if it had it's own forum. I only mentioned you by name because you seem to have the most threads about them that's all.

As a usual outside observer on these threads, I think they're doing okay. Debate can get pretty intense sometimes but I've been around internet message boards for a good 7 years now and I've seen a lot worse. We're doing okay. I don't think we need a subforum, The Pub is easy enough to keep up with as it is. That's just for me, anyways.

I agree, but it's also tough for some people to hold themselves back.

We can make is a seperate forum completely or a subforum of the PUB. Post your votes:

1. Keep it like it is
2. Subforum of the Pub
3. New forum
