Why would anyone want another Clausen? I can't understand it. CC was pretty highly touted.

This whole argument is just ridiculous. I wouldn't care if the #1 rated QB had the last name "Manson", it would be nuts to not want him just because of his last name.

I respectfully disagree. Turmoil seems to follow these kids around. UT has been burned badly by one sibling combo. If Chris Leak was here we may not even be having this conversation. I just don't think its worth the risk to put your recruiting eggs in that basket.

On top of that, bot CC and RC bring an arrogance to the table that thus far they have been unable to justify.

We'll just have to agree to disagree. I don't see any negatives to recruiting Jimmy Clausen whatsoever.

i agree i believe that is the only reason they allowed rick to transfer to ut is to get his brother jimmy.

Jimmy would have been a 15 year old high school freshman when Rick transferred from LSU. I doubt he was even on anyone's radar screen at that point.

you don't watch espn much do you. they as in ut have like jimmy and had footage of him since his freashman year of highschool.

I remember asking someone close to the program (someone who played with Fulmer) if CJ Leak was as good as advertised when he transferred from Wake.

He told me point blank that he was allowed to transfer because we wanted Chris. I think CL was a soph at that time.

I do believe they allowed RC to come to UT as a personal favor to the Clausens. I do not know for a fact that it was to recruit JC, but they were very aware that there was another Clausen waiting in the weeds.

I know as absolute fact that CJ was here to recruit Leak. That is why I want to leave the Clausen's alone. It seems to be a "lazy" way to recruit.

It has gotten UT absolutely NOWHERE.

I think that is probably a lot closer to the truth. Smoke, I'm not saying that they might not have known about Jimmy, just saying that it was more of a family thing for the Clausens than a way of getting the inside track on Jimmy.

I've been a fan since I was 7 or 8 years old. I'm much much older now. Obviously I was venting when I wrote the post.
I'll always be a Vols fan. I'm just very frustrated that for such a highly talented team that we are so darned inefficient with the offense because of political and personal bull****..
Take a look at the games you recorded from early in the season. The receivers body language and dropped passes plus the offensive lines inability to protect Ainge and their ability to keep Rick safe should ring a few bells.
The team doesn't like Ainge and is playing to Rick for some reason.
It's pretty clear. At least to me.
