Kellie Jolly Harpers' relative advantage over Ivey is that she does have head coaching experience.
Ivey's relative advantage over Harper is that she is a from a system that has proven to be more effective in todays game than the LV "effort" model. Ivey also has WNBA experience which opens even more perspective on coaching and probably provides some recruiting cachet.
On balance, I think the LVs need to get out of the family; incest leads to a weakened gene pool. We need new blood in the system.
Ivey is also a proven recruiter and is known to be able to develop players. It's very public that she was instrumental in the development of Diggins, Lloyd, McBride, L. Allen, and most recently Ogunbowale. These recruits came in as top players already, and she was able to continue to improve their game. Ivey started out as the recruiter coordinator (our Reeves) in 2012. ND on their website says she is responsible for 8 top 10 recruiting classes. Ivey started with Tamika for the Fever for four years. She knows how to win. I think the biggest questions for me is, as head coach, how much player development will she have? Have much recruiting will she have? She will have assistance doing these jobs for her. Of course, she will be involved, but the head coach has its own responsibilities. She has proven that at every level she is going to be successful, and she has that going for her.
