gruden could get an nfl gig right now. if he took this job it would be because he wants it. my point, however, was that the money shouldn't be an issue

Hart may have already addressed the folks (boosters) he answers to, and the fans on a message board might not even know it.

I think fans (all fans, not just Vols), tend to overestimate their importance in the big picture. The fans can say they represent UT's revenue with game attendance, donations, and merchandise; but really, the AD knows the fans won't entirely vanish if he ends up putting out a better product... I doubt any AD checks in with the team message board or average fans prior to making any decisions. And I'd definitely be shocked if he felt compelled to answer to them afterwards either.

Maybe Hart and the folks he answers to didn't think Gruden was the best option in the first place... that whole thing seemed to be a fan concoction that snowballed out of control in a day.

I think Dave Hart needs to explain several things, most importantly, what he's been doing for the past two weeks, because it doesn't look like he's been doing anything at all.

I would also like him to further explain his comment at the previous press conference that his mind wasn't made up about whether Dooley would return or not at 6-6. Does Hart really think that 3 years without a winning record is acceptable here? If so, should Hart still be our AD?

I agree with this. Hart should have been working angles after FL. At least putting out feelers gauging interest if a move became necessary later in the season. By Missouri he should have already made his mind up and started planning out CDD's exit and the plans for handling the search, money for new coach/CDD's buy out, and probably meeting with boosters to read them in and get direction.

At this point, it APPEARS that he has done little other than a few phone calls and a courtesy call to JG's agent. Of course, we don't know what hes been doing this whole time yet, hopefully a helluva lot more than it looks like he has to us right now.

This process is very frustrating, but I'll roll with Hart and make my mind up on his performance after a coach is actually announced and more credible details begin coming out. I will continue praying for a big time hire that will unite and excite the fan base, grab the attention of recruits and the media and ressurect this struggling program at long last.
