Let me just say that I'm happy we have Adidas and not Nike.

did you see the abortion of a football jersey that michigan had on last saturday?? Holy Criminey. THose were adidas, and they were worse than anything I have ever seen, aside from Maryland. . . but it was close.

I'm going to disagree. The fauxbacks were almost a million times better than Maryland's, and at least 900,000 times better than any of Nike's pro combats, with the exception of (maybe) the Army and Navy unis.

those were throwbacks and I liked them. If you're going to have an alternate at least have it mean something (like ND and Mich did) and not be "just because"

Alabama, Penn St, and USC, don't seem to have a problem saying no to pro combat. Those that think having Nike means you have to wear pro combat is utter bs.

Those Michigan uni's were ****ing awesome. Pro Crombats are just usually silly and way over the top.

I've liked a few of them, like 2. VT's last year and the new LSU ones.

I wish the NCAA would step in a put a stop to the ridiculous uniforms. They should make general standards about what a football uniform should be so that schools are less focused on fashion and more focused on football and their compliance issues.

I hate it when college football, a sport built on tradition, tries to incorporate stupid gimmicks.

I wouldn't say any sport is built on tradition. Things evolve whether it's uniforms or the game itself. Tradition doesn't have much to do with how you look anyway. Our cleats seem to change from year to year & our uniform has small changes from time to time. The power T had a change at one point & now we have that smokey logo on a lot of our stuff.

Penn State?

Bama?

Tennessee?

Michigan?

Notre Dame?

All iconic looks that are instantly recognizable and based in tradition.

Recognized because they have a tradition of winning. Had nothing to do with what they wore. Tradition isn't having a bland uniform using up to date technology. A lot of it is sponsor driven & that wasn't around when they had leather helmets & before the forward pass. Money talks.

You're sorely misguided if you don't think those looks are iconic and easily contribute to their fame.

I'd even go so far to say that you're ignorant if you think otherwise.

I will call you ignorant if you think people gives a rats ass about what a team wears as long as they're winning. It's not like the schools you listed are the only ones who keep their unis somewhat conservative. There's a lot of traditional losers that do too that nobobody cares about.

I guess you've never met a Penn State fan.

Bama didn't drastically change their look in their sucky days, either.

Oh well, better not to argue with ignoramuses. You know the old saying, etc.

I hope Tennessee never betrays its heritage like Oregon, Maryland, etc., have theirs by wearing atrocious, trendy uniforms.

Aside from their few toned down versions they mostly look like outfits a clown troupe would design if they played football. I'm waiting for the layered socks and colored shoe laces to show up.

You mean like the orange laces we wear with white cleats?
