I guess every fanbase has absolutely ignorant people. UT's fanbase is no exception. We will always have a percentage of fans who will never be satisfied, perpetual complainers, perpetual victims, perpetual loser mentality attitudes.

How can we have such delusional fans that have somehow either forgotten or dismiss the last 15-20 years of UT football? How can they dismiss the awful administrations of Mike Hamilton, Jimmy Cheek, Dave Hart, Phil Fulmer, multiple embarrassing and inept coaches?

How can they justify being truly upset with yesterday's results when the Vols have been a bottom dweller in the conference for so long? Is everyone a little upset the Vols didn't play much better and perform better yesterday? Sure, but Georgia just gets the credit for a good ol fashioned ass whoopin.

As programs go through attrition with rosters, I wish our fanbase would do the same.

If you aren't or can't be excited about what the team has accomplished this season and what lies ahead, then you have issues. GTFO!

I am plenty critical when it's justified, but seriously GTFO! Go cheer for Vandie or Bama or some other team.

I've used the word "miraculous" previously. I think this is an apt descriptor for what Heupel and this team have accomplished so far. If they win out, Heupel is coach of the year and it's not even close. To do what he's done with this roster is incredible.

Are you kidding? 8 or 9 wins were projected, here, they stand a chance of going 11-1 and still being in the CFP. Overacheived might be an understatement. I love this team's heart. GBO!

You just said never satisfied and loser mentality as if they're correlated which is the exact opposite of how that works. I voted yes to the poll but that doesn't mean we have to gloss over things and ignore areas of criticism. Still been a hell of a season but there are things we need to fix.

Correct. 10 or more wins was viewed as a miracle season. 8 to 10 wins was what most fans had hoped for. Fewer than 8 and we all probably would've been pissed and rightfully so. My post is aimed at a small, but loud percentage of so-called fanbase.

If someone is never satisfied in life they have an overall loser menality outlook about everything. The two go hand in hand.

Vols fan sitting in the bar drinking a cold one in August 2022 and is told by a fortune teller “The Vols are going 11-1 this year. Only loss is to Georgia. Most games they play won’t even be close. Oh and Hooker will be a legitimate Heisman candidate.”

What Vols fan in their right mind would reply “Really?? I thought we would do better this year!”

I think it’s abundantly clear they’ve overachieved. Beating FL, LSU, and BAMA is the same year. 8-1 but that doesn’t make me feel any better about losing once again Georgia and having to hear the worst fan base in CFB rub it in.

Unfortunately, there is a percentage of our fan base that this applies to.....

Over achieving for me? yes. Not for the team though. They always believed. I would say they are disappointed with yesterday just like we are, but that is how sports work, someone loses someone wins. I am excited and happy with our team.

Absolutely they have overachieved.

Nobody shiuld be hanging their head or down on the Vols.

We are easily top 5, and maybe, just maybe, this team learns and grows from this and comes ready to play the rest of the season.
This game is going to be great film study for the team. CJH will use this to make our team better. No doubt. CJH didn't throw the team under the bus like our past coaches did. He said that we need to accept what it is. Love that from CJH.

If you argue it from the "if Heupel is worth anything and is a good coach. And good coaches always have a big jump from year 1 to year 2" side, then I'd say the biggest overachievement was beating Bammer. Maybe a slight argument to add LSU in to that mix, at least the way we did it and on the road. But beating Pitt and UF was something any decent coach in year 2 should have done.

Overall, absolutely overachieved. I kind of thought 8-4 to start the year, but would not have been surprised at all with 9-3, and if things fell right 10-2 with only losses coming Bammer and UGA. We're gonna out do all of that it appears.

I guarantee you none of our pervious 3 coaches would have winning a record at this point in the season.

I believe they have, but I also believe there was talent in this group that needed to be tapped by proper coaching. In one way I believe they’ve overachieved…..but in another way I think that sells them short a bit. All of that being said, I thought 8-9 wins, so I’m thrilled with the distinct possibility of having 11 wins.
