Gotta finish strong. We cannot afford to sizzle out in last 3 games. What this team has done in what little time is nothing short of a miracle. Repeating what a lot have said if you ask me last year about this year no way in hell are we at where we're at...

Absolutely they have overachieved.

Nobody shiuld be hanging their head or down on the Vols.

We are easily top 5, and maybe, just maybe, this team learns and grows from this and comes ready to play the rest of the season.
Yeah, I think this is going to be a learning experience for everyone… but we also have to keep in mind we lost what 37 players like 1.5 years ago? Going against essentially a team full of five stars? Lol Still very proud of this team, and I think the NIL is starting to do it’s thing as the great equalizer (already affecting Bama)

LOL, who are the 5 idiots?
Click on it and it will tell. Yes I voted no, so I am an idiot by your standards. I am not unhappy with our success or our loss yesterday. The team goal was going to Atlanta and then onward. I for one minute don’t believe the team thinks they overachieved so far. They are the ones that matter anyway, because they are the ones who work hard to make me happy.

I voted no. We are that good. Just nobody expected us to be that good.

You just said never satisfied and loser mentality as if they're correlated which is the exact opposite of how that works. I voted yes to the poll but that doesn't mean we have to gloss over things and ignore areas of criticism. Still been a hell of a season but there are things we need to fix.

I hear what you're saying, and it's a free country, but only the coaching staff and players can fix anything here. I would be shocked if they're not aware of areas that need improvement, and doubly shocked if they read message boards for tips.

I guess every fanbase has absolutely ignorant people. UT's fanbase is no exception. We will always have a percentage of fans who will never be satisfied, perpetual complainers, perpetual victims, perpetual loser mentality attitudes.

How can we have such delusional fans that have somehow either forgotten or dismiss the last 15-20 years of UT football? How can they dismiss the awful administrations of Mike Hamilton, Jimmy Cheek, Dave Hart, Phil Fulmer, multiple embarrassing and inept coaches?

How can they justify being truly upset with yesterday's results when the Vols have been a bottom dweller in the conference for so long? Is everyone a little upset the Vols didn't play much better and perform better yesterday? Sure, but Georgia just gets the credit for a good ol fashioned ass whoopin.

As programs go through attrition with rosters, I wish our fanbase would do the same.

If you aren't or can't be excited about what the team has accomplished this season and what lies ahead, then you have issues. GTFO!

I am plenty critical when it's justified, but seriously GTFO! Go cheer for Vandie or Bama or some other team.
LOL I cannot believe anyone even ask if we've overachieved this season! MOST OF VN was predicting 8-4 or 9-3. Prognosticators were predicting 6-6 or 7-5. We have a legit shot at 11-1 and still making the playoffs. Ummm yes we have overachieved by miles.

If you argue it from the "if Heupel is worth anything and is a good coach. And good coaches always have a big jump from year 1 to year 2" side, then I'd say the biggest overachievement was beating Bammer. Maybe a slight argument to add LSU in to that mix, at least the way we did it and on the road. But beating Pitt and UF was something any decent coach in year 2 should have done.

Overall, absolutely overachieved. I kind of thought 8-4 to start the year, but would not have been surprised at all with 9-3, and if things fell right 10-2 with only losses coming Bammer and UGA. We're gonna out do all of that it appears.

I guarantee you none of our pervious 3 coaches would have winning a record at this point in the season.
Since you predicted 8-4 and beating Pitt and Florida was something a decent coach should’ve done does that mean you didn’t think Heupel was a decent coach? You had to be assuming a loss to one of those teams or one that’s even worse.

I have no idea if we have over achieved this year. But, I do know the Vols have made Saturdays a lot more fun. They have brought back the excitement of being a Vol fan.
This year has been amazing, and the future looks very bright.

Nah, no idiots friend, don't take it personally. The poll question was not asking what the players' thoughts were. I think most fans by and far believe we've overachieved thus far.

I would say yes to an extent. What we're seeing this year, IMO, is a classic example of great coaching and development of a roster of "3 & 4" star talent. The staff has them playing at their peak. This is something we have not seen at UT for a long time. Personally, I am beyond thrilled. UT football is damn fun again. Cudos to both staff and players.

Georgia last year and especially the past two weeks this year is a roster of "4 & 5" star talent playing at their peak. As they say, "It is what it is..."

We're going to be fine and I'm excited for the future of the program..

Regroup, win out and let the cards fall where they may..

GO VOLS and stomp Missouri's ass...

I get that but I'm not gonna call it what it ain't

Yes but that's exactly what a coach worth a damn does in year two. Since Butch I was holding off buying into another coach until they proved they were different and CJH has removed any and all doubt from my mind. Behind this mofo 100%.

It’s not necessarily upset with yesterdays results. It’s more of the manner in which we lost. Most on here in the pick the score thread had us handling UGA. The #1 offense was gonna handle business. Didn’t come close to happening.

I think most could have seen a 35-24 or a 48-38 type of loss. But to see our offense completely stifled? Completely a non factor? That’s the thing I think shocks the most of us.

Honestly. I hadn't made my mind up yet. I thought he showed promise in the first year but the second year is the biggest measure in my opinion. He's passed the test with ease so far.

Certainly fair. I’d put our staff up against anyone in the country.

Yep, it was apparent early on with all 3 of our previous coaches they weren't going to cut it. Dooley tried to quit after the second season, Butch completely botched the UF game where we lost 10-9. Pruitt actually gave us a little more promise with the way we rebounded in his second year but that loss to GA State was horrific. I still had doubts after that game though.

How can anyone possibly say we haven’t? It’s year 2, and we’re sitting here at 8-1 with wins over top 10 bama, top 10 lsu at Death Valley, got over the Florida hump, and could quite possibly still end up in the college football playoff. The job heupel and staff have done is nothing short of amazing.

Only true delusional fans would have believed the Vols would be 8-1 at this point with 11-1 being the likely outcome.
Shake off the GA hangover and let’s enjoy the rest of the season. College football is crazy and the Vols could end up playing them again on a neutral field

Honestly I shrugged off yesterday really easily. Wins over UF, LSU and Bama and a team that is a blast to watch and faith in the future? I'm sold. Even if the season ended to day I'd remember this one as one of the great seasons for Tennessee Football.

Of course they have. Year 2 under CJH and we’re in the playoff hunt. I thought if we hired the right coach we could be competing for the East in 3-4 years. This year has been a huge recruiting success and will be a foundational class under CJH.

I didn’t take it personally, just gave a reason why I don’t think they are overachieving this year. My pick was 8-4 at beginning of the year, the team knew way more than I did of what they are about. Just enjoying the season and trying to get involved in some of the FF topics.
