I mean the ceiling is soooo high, and the floor seems higher than it's been since Grant and Admiral (and Bone and Alexander and Lamonte and Bowden)

I think elite 8 and better is certainly attainable. I’m still worried about Barnes teams going on long offensive cold spells. Hopefully Barnes lets the guys play freely. This year we have some legit scorers who can create offense when given the chance.

I think the ceiling is high and we have the pieces to make it to the final 4. But its a long season and still very early. Teams will have aml year to try to attack us different ways and expose us. And Barnes teams tend to struggle rebounding against and keeping up with teams that love to shoot the 3 ball. And therr is always some small teams lole that you run into in the tourney.

I vote sweet 16 because although we all want more that's a successful season we should all be happy about. And it's fully attainable.

Not sure our ceiling is as high as Grant's senior-year team that lost to Purdue thanks for Turner's dumb foul. Grant gave us a true go-to guy near the basket when we needed a hoop. This should be a good team but we don't have a go-to inside player; will have to rely more on outside shooting in crucial, end-of-game situations--which can be more problematic.

I'm incredibly concerned that Tennessee is going to follow the pattern of most Barnes teams. Start off strong, win with defense, score upsets along the way, but get worn down over the season and come into March so burned out that they can't grind much further - and once they run into a team that maybe isn't as good defensively but can score consistently and has a good shooting night, that's it.

I lived in Texas during part of the Barnes era, and the criticisms made then are eeriely similar to the ones we see now. A lot of decent-to-good regular season Longhorn teams would come into the tournament looking tired, worn down, and hesitant to shoot. Year after year. Even when they had great shooters, they'd get to March and guys either didn't want to shoot or were missing shots. The rap was that Barnes wore his teams out over the course of the season, mentally and physically, and they'd run out of gas at the end, often ahead of their seeding.

Now don't misunderstand me here. I picked Final Four - and anything can happen once you get to the Final Four. I hope that it's all been circumstantial, and it's not a pattern. I want this to be the year. For every Tennessee fan who's followed, for the players who've carried the program, and Barnes for having eleveated the program to national prominence. Maybe they have enough guys, enough depth, a deep enough roster, that they'll have enough this year. I sure hope they do. I'm just nervous that the pattern will continue.

The fact that you have CHAMPS! on there as an option says a lot. But it's too early for me to cast a vote. Heck, at this time 4 years ago we had no clue that Covid-19 was about to change the world and impact the college sports world the way it did. I am excited about our chances and am just grateful that Barnes has the team prepared and puts it in a position to win every game. We are contenders for a National Championship. Unfortunately, there are several other teams out there capable of winning it, which is no fault of Coach Barnes'.

This poll would be better after the Maui tournament with a larger sample size from which to judge.
Its not the really good teams that scare me. It's the mid majors / lower power 5 teams that we seem to struggle with. I know FAU was much better than anyone thought but to most 18-22 year old's it still FAU and seems like we struggle getting up for those teams.
