Also should note the Michigan AD is on the committee. That seems fair. Only one SEC AD, and that’s Kentucky. Maybe we should be rooting for Michigan to beat OSU? Would have to imagine the Michigan AD would lobby hard and obviously vote for a 1 loss Michigan over us View attachment 511427

Per bylaws, committee members are recused and not allowed to participate in deliberations involving their own school.

We still gotta get out of way, handle our business, and let the Jimmy's and Joe's knock each other out in the preliminary matches.

Think TCU has to lose and then we are in. People can argue about TCU all they want (I don’t think they are very good) but they aren’t putting us in above an undefeated Big 12 champion. Just not happening.

I don’t think they’ll go undefeated.

TCU's SOR gets dinged this week with loses by K State & OK State. K State is probably ranked in the 25 but OK State won't be.

Don't see them in top 4.

As of today? No. By the end of the season, I fully expect to be there as long as we take care of business.

If Tennessee finishes 11-1 then 100% yes. Doesn't matter what USC or Oregon does The committee has already shown SOS is a pretty big deal. The only thing that hurts TN IMO is if LSU upsets Georgia in the SECCG. I still think LSU drops next week or A&M.

Doesn't matter. Either UM or OSU will lose their last game. That allows us to slide in.
1. Georgia
2. OSU or UM
3. TCU
4. Tennessee

I think so too, but wouldn’t put it past the committee to put them both in if it’s a close game.

I think we need some help from TCU losing and or Oregon, I think they will put Oregon ahead of us potentially setting up a SEC, Big 12, Pac 12 and Big 10 all conference champs playing in the playoff, I think they would prefer to see a all champion playoff every year and it could happen this year.

ND would side with B1G

Good news is ACC is out of the sweepstakes and Pac12 is not far behind with one more UCLA/OR loss. TCU is it for the B12.

No, not YET! But they will be.

TCU will probably lose to Texas this week.

Ohio St and Michigan will play each other. Vols resume will be much better than whomever loses that game.

Oregon has been blowing out almost everyone on their schedule but their one loss to the Dawgs was 49-3. Advantage Vols.

LSU and Bama already have two losses.

They need a bit of help but if the Vols win out, I think they get in!

I like our chances. We know the committee is quite comfortable with putting in 2 SEC teams and once they do, those teams perform well and reflects well on the decision

We've had a murderous SEC schedule of late but now our schedule is a walk. We likely will be 3 TD favorites in all remaining games. All of our competition for the top 3 spots have tough games coming up. There are bound to be loses

Half of the SEC would blow the teams out that Oregon played.

Isn't it better not to get exposed by Georgia again this year? Let's get some good recruits in here and then look forward to a match up in Knoxville.

College Football Playoff rankings predictions: What the CFP top 25 could look like in Week 11

College Football Playoff rankings predictions: Top 25 projections Week 11
  1. Georgia (9-0) | Prev: 3 — If Georgia isn't No. 1 after defeating the then-No. 1 team in the country, it will surprise everyone. The Bulldogs have the best win of any undefeated team and are the defending national champions. That's deserving of the top spot.
  2. Ohio State (9-0) | Prev: 2 — Ohio State struggled offensively in the elements, but still walked away with a win over Northwestern. Every other undefeated team ranked below the Buckeyes faced difficulties of their own last week, so no one supplants Ohio State from No. 2
  3. Michigan (9-0) | Prev: 5 — The Wolverines trailed Rutgers at halftime before dominating the second half. Nonetheless, Michigan rises with two teams above it losing.
  4. Tennessee (8-1) | Prev: 1 — Tennessee over an undefeated TCU? Yes, that will surely make headlines, but the Vols have wins over LSU, Alabama and Kentucky. One loss doesn't drop Tennessee out of the playoff hunt.
  5. TCU (9-0) | Prev: 7 — TCU was ranked behind Alabama last week because "They've gotten behind in some games." Against Texas Tech, the Horned Frogs trailed entering the fourth quarter. I don't see the committee's reasoning changing with that performance.
  6. Oregon (8-1) | Prev: 8 — After a Boobie Miles-like performance from quarterback Bo Nix where he threw, ran and caught a touchdown, Oregon has won eight games in a row.
  7. LSU (7-2) | Prev: 10 — After winning a 32-31 thriller, LSU controls its destiny in the SEC West. Could the Tigers and first-year head coach Brian Kelly become the first two-loss team to make the playoffs?

With no significant defensive stopping ability nor an SEC caliber secondary, Tennessee cannot play from behind and would end up like Michigan last year, with many questioning why that team was even there to begin with, the defense has to improve to allow the team to be competitive when the offense can't score touchdowns

Michigan won the Big Ten and beat Ohio State. There was 0% chance they were going to be left out.

All we got to do is kick MIZZ, USCjr., and Vandy azz and we will be the 3 seed, they won't put us against the Dawgs in round 1, we will play Ohio State.

Assuming we win out without a close scare, I believe that in order to get bumped from the playoff, all three of the following would have to happen:

TCU wins out as undefeated B12 champ
Oregon wins out as 1-loss P12 champ
OSU/UM is a one possession game

If just ONE of the three things above doesn't end up happening, I think we're in.

Playoff committee will see extremely easy schedules for OhSt and Mich compared to Tennessee. I really think OhSt will get trucked by Mich. Northwestern (B1G Vandy), out gained them and almost beat them Saturday.
