About 45% of conservatives in MS and AL believe that Obama is a Muslim

About 14% believe he's Christian

About 25% of these polled people believe that interracial marriage should be illegal...

At least the majority (about 60%) said interracial marriage should be legal, but it does go to show you how some people are still stuck in the 50s.

Seriously, some people in our country...the country that's supposed to be free...believe that interracial marriage should be illegal? It just baffles me.

I know people on here are gonna say, "Well, they're in the minority..." but 25%...that's not a small minority. If it was 6%, well, I wouldn't be surprised. But 25%???

Obama is a politician, therefore he is a Satanist.

Makes you wonder what the other 15% think about interracial marriage, doesn't it?

We stopped being free years ago. Some people sure enjoy the fiction though.

It shouldn't surprise you too much. In some parts of Mississippi they still think that fire is a new-fangled fad that will die out any day now.

That's right. Only racists and bigots vote against Obama. It's not like the article wouldn't have rolled the Volunteer state into the mix if the primary coincided. Way to read between the lines fellows.

What was said that could possibly provoke this?

I didn't vote for Obama and never would. How is that possibly relevant to the sheer ignorance of some rednecks?

That's the whole point of the stats and the linked article. That's all I mean. Don't be fooled. The LA Times would be happy to crucify any Southern (or other for that matter) state that wasn't "all in" for Obama. Alabama and Mississippi's GOP primaries are tomorrow, and that is what predicated the article.

My only real point is to be careful throwing stones. If it had worked out that Tennessee's GOP primary had been tomorrow, the Volunteer state would have most likely been lumped in with the knuckle-draggers as well. I grew up in Tennessee, will return, and will be buried there someday. I know there are enough idiots to keep the statistics close enough to be eye opening if they included the state.

When Tennessee is proclaimed the enlightened thinking state amongst three alternatives, I automatically think Alabama and Mississippi have to be the other two choices.

Racial and religious bigotry confirmed.

I lived in Florida. North Florida resembles something from an episode of Cops. The panhandle is called L.A. (Lower Alabama) Gainesville is also a real jewel.

Plus, it produces such intellectual giants such as LG.

I lived in Jacksonville until '89. Some nice parts, but mostly crap.

Its actually grown tremendously. I live in Ponte Vedra for about 4 years in the late 90's early 00's. That part is ok, but the further west and inland you go....the more trailers you see.

I remember... Jax Beach is crap. And to be such a big city, there is nothing to do there. Nothing in the way of tourism anyway.

leave it to the LA Times to publish results from that type of polling data. That garbage is tantamount to asking Smokey his opinion and publishing it.

odd, I don't recall similar stories polling liberals with beliefs like: Sarah Palin thinks people rode dinosaurs, Dick Cheney worked for Haliburton while VP, Michelle Bachman's husband is gay, George Bush caused the financial meltdown, animals have human rights, etc. etc.

I'm much more concerned with the 40-60% who think drugs, prostitution, gay marriage, etc. should be illegal. They are the real threat to freedom.

Poll: 45-52% Believe Obama Is A Muslim And GOP Elites Don't Get It | America's Conservative News

According to a recently released poll by the left-leaning Public Policy Polling, 45% of likely GOP primary voters in Alabama believe that Barack Hussein Obama is a Muslim. 41% of those polled were unsure and only 14% responded that they believe that Mr. Obama is a Christian.

Similar results were obtained in Mississippi where 52% of respondents said they believe that Obama is a Muslim, while 36% claimed they were not sure and only 12% said they believe Obama is a Christian.
------------------------------------

Why shouldn't voters in Alabama and Mississippi (and across the nation for that matter) question Mr. Obama's beliefs? Did he not bow before a Saudi prince? Did he not say that American is "no longer a Christian nation"? Has he not exhibited open hostility toward the beliefs of those who "cling to guns or religion"?

Did he not say that he would stand with Muslims? Did he not call the Islamic call to prayer one of the most beautiful sounds he had ever heard? Has he not exhibited mind-bending foreign-policy weakness when it comes to our war against radical Islam? Do we need go on?

Barack Hussein Obama told the New York Times that the Muslim call to prayer is "one of the prettiest sounds on Earth." It was in an interview with Nicholas Kristof published in the New York Times. "Mr. Obama recalled the opening lines of the Arabic call to prayer," this is a quote from Nicholas Kristof, "reciting them with a first-rate [Arabic] accent." Now, the first lines of this call to prayer, the Adhan, when translated (and this is in the New York Times. It's a Nicholas Kristof piece) is: "Allah is supreme, Allah is supreme, Allah is supreme, Allah is supreme. I witness that there is no god but Allah."

In the world of Islam repeating the Adhan is all that is needed to affirm that one is muslim.

Just today, Neal Boortz played a tape of 0bama with George Stephanopolis.....

Steph: “Mr. Obama, has McCain ever said anything about your faith?”

0bama: McCain has never said anything about my Muslim faith.”

Steph: “You mean Christian faith.”

0bama: “Uh, my Christian faith.”

using your logic, I can also say with near 100% certainty that the bulk of UF Law graduates are simple-minded, shallow misogynists with the litigating prowess of Dan Fielding.
