Santorum is not on the same level as Bachmann's husband. His voice, flamboyant mannerisms, and his "pray-the-gay-away" clinic leave a crap ton of room for speculation. The fact that her and her husband believe it to be a disorder only brings more negative attention.

Why do you suppose people call it homophobia? fear of same?

People who are prejudiced against blacks are not accused of having afrophobia or exhibiting melaninphobia. or people who dislike jews are anti-semitic not hebrewphobic. or mysoginist instead of vaginaphobic.

I have always thought that 'homophobic' was a strange turn of phrase.
