A lot of nba guys are talking like he could be gone after this year. For his sake I hope he gets a good grade and can go make money, but for the team’s sake another year could be what we need to put us over the top. Springer,Johnson, and walker are great players but add in a veteran pons and the team goes from young and talented to just flat out talented.
There's not "a lot" of NBA guys saying he'll be gone. He's been mentioned by scouts because of his enormous upside and the fact he's improved greatly since coming here. No way he's going to be drafted until MAYBE, and I mean MAYBE after his senior season

It was a good game. Not a great game. Those last two shots he took in the last minutes of the game were terrible. He tried to go straight up over the big fella and then shot a fade away with their PG on him. He's vastly improved each year. Those two shots were reflective of his inexperience in the game. If his improvement continues to trend upwardly, he'll be a beast of a role player next year

After scoring 24 against Kansas he will be a "role player" next year lol ok

Yeah, his skill set is that of a role player. As to your reasoning...it's just plain silly. Just because he scored 24 yesterday at Kansas doesn't mean he's going to be one of our go-to-guys. LOL.....ok

He may very well leave. He'll be playing in the G league and that's ok. As usual our fan base lives up to its reputation as being delusional
how am I being delusional? I’m giving you facts lmao I never said he was going to be an all star, he could spend a year in the gleague, who knows?

Had not saw anything that told me he was capable of doing what he done yesterday. Kudos to him. Don’t know what more you want me to say.

Ok. Sorry. A more applicable word would be reactionary. An no, they're not facts. They're the opinions of a few people

I said a lot of nba people were talking that he may be gone after this year, you said that wasn’t true. I showed you that they are in fact talking about that. That’s the definition of facts.

I never said that wasn't true. I said it's not "a lot" which is 100% true. You cited two. Do you realize how many NBA analysts/scouts there are? I know a few or some are saying it. When a NBA GMs start talking him up, we can talk more about it.

If Uros improves greatly, he may be a starter next year. Only if he improves greatly. Fulk would be the PF next to him. Fulk is gamer

If pons moves on yea that’s possible. Olivier will likely get the nod as it’s clear Barnes loves him

Even Jay Bias mentioned it in the game. Pond is an intriguing prospect. Needs to come back for his senior year though.

Exactly. Some in this fan base all of sudden believe he's a go-to-guy because he had 24 yesterday. And we wonder why we're often a laughingstock as a fan base. I love that we have him. I love how he's improved. That being said, if he's our go-to-guy, we're headed to perpetual mediocrity

Should be one of 3 go to guys with Fulk and Bowden. The rest of the team are role players.

I honestly would love to see us run some triangle offense with our big 3 and put Vescovi in the opposite corner for 3's and teach JJJ to slash to the basket on the back side of the play.

There is an argument to be made. He’s top 3 of points per game, only .4 away from being the second leading scorer. I’d call your second-third leading scorer a go to guy, but hell what do I know 🤷‍♂️

Why is it a slam dunk that Pons needs to stay? He will be drafted based off of his athleticism. Will staying another year make him more athletic? The roster should be way more talented next season. Will he even start? How does staying help him improve his stock? He will be sharing minutes and probably getting less perimeter shots next season.

Personally, I feel like he is way too short to play at the next level, and lacks the talent to play on the perimeter. The last few picks of the second round are always reaches of athletic freaks. I don't see that changing whether it is this season or next season, other than another year of wear and tear and opportunity for a devastating injury to make teams more hesitant.

Another season of consistency will help him go higher, possibly late first round instead of maybe late second. Would also give him another year to develop and improve his chances of sticking in the league.

At worst, he will end up a pro overseas and I'm sure he will be fine with that.
