Poor Hog Fans - Chavis Hired for DC

Third and Chavis....the journey continues.

Damn, I thought I was the last person alive that remembered 3rd and Chavis.....good to know there are others that remember too.

Chavis is the only DC I have ever heard of whereby the longer the distance on 3rd down---the higher the percentage of getting a 1st down. On 1st and 2nd downs he was good, then went all to Hell on 3rd.

Personally, I have always felt player talent dictated how he looked as a coach.....if he had great talent, he looked like a great coach---if he had average talent, he looked like an average coach---his success was based on player talent and not his coaching skills.

Oh third and long, seemed like the offence always got the first down or scored a TD. That's not just some ginned up story by bone head fans. We watched that happen for years.

I love Chavis and still would buy him a beer if I met him out and about but it does seem like the game may be passing him by. Back in the day though the guy was a master.

Hopefully some of the teams in the SEC will be bad and have terrible coaching. We've been there and hopefully are moving out while some others move in. Someone is going to lose in the league you just hope it is not your team.
