IMO, coaches have created the worry to a degree. Two freshman WRs this past season, one a 5*, that barely saw the field because they weren't ready. Now, next season, we'll be depending on freshmen for depth. It's a confusing message.Interesting how different people view the same scenario. To me it’s exciting. I’m pumped to see some new blood on the field
I was thinking the same thing. Everyone was freaking out about having no experienced dbs and they turn out to be arguably the best unit on the team.Feels like the WR room is like the DB room last year. Ended up being a big upgrade, hoping moves are being made behind the scenes.
They have to be, right?

Ohio State relied on a Senior, a Sophomore, and a true Freshman for nearly all their WR production this season and was the best WR group we faced, possibly the best in the country. The biggest impact they had outside of those three was another Sophomore who had 13 catches for 157 yards for the season. If they are good, let them play. For comparison, out top three returners will be a Junior and two redshirt Freshmen. The incoming Freshman will be backups, and that is without picking up a portal guy.I understand that perspective, but relying on 3 true freshmen to be impact players doesn’t seem like a recipe for success. I’m also just skeptical that Pope is actually capable of coaching them up. 2 years he’s had the job and the WRs have not looked good. That’s not all just recruiting.
Did you just join the board? Did you not hear and see the gnashing of teeth and pearl clutching because of WR play? They wanted to get rid of all the players AND the coach. Now that the players are leaving the same posters are crying about them leaving? Do yall want them to stick around so that yall will have something/someone to complain about?3 starters gone in Bru, Thortun, and white, others with experience have entered the portal. Cause for concern. We will see how it turns out.
These FR will get extensive work on the practice field with Nico as compared to having upper classmen ahead of them. They and Nico will work together between now and KO against Syracuse making them very effective next year.IMO, coaches have created the worry to a degree. This is similar to last year, complains about DBs. DBs leave, same posters cry because the DBs leave. Coaches upgraded the secondary. Maybe fans should sit back and be quiet and let the coaches do what they're paid millions to do. They don't require input from Jimmy who drives the forklift down at The Mega Low Mart.
No crying here, so slow down. I've been here longer than you. It was more about the OL than the WR. In my opinion and that's what counts for my posts, it's a problem.Did you just join the board? It’s possible to evaluate without being overly dramatic.Nothing bad ever happens to Tennessee. Everything is blessing in disguise. I mean, Dooley, Butch, and Pruitt led us to Heupel.

I’m definitely concerned with our WR coach, which I think is a legit concern considering the drop in production from that group the last 2 years. We also lost a couple of NFL WRs at the same time. Is it the coach or a talent drop. We will soon find out
I’m concerned about our OL coach. Struggled recruiting the first two years for whatever reason, legit (sanctions, years of being an afterthought) or he just isn’t a good recruiter. But the position has, on paper are least, been recruited well the last 2 cycles. We will soon find out about him too
I’m concerned about our DC. Didn’t seem to have our guys even close to in position against the better teams. They look confused a lot. LBs were young and S lacked athleticism imo. Was it the scheme or the players? We will soon find out
I’m concerned about our WR and TE route tree. Didn’t seem THIS basics the first 2 years. Play calling didn’t seem to have any creativity or wrinkles, besides adjusting blocking schemes and having the 12 personnel (where was that against OSU?) is it the OC, HC not evolving, or not trusting the players. We will soon find out.
It’s possible to have concerns without think the sky is falling every. Stinking. Time. We lose a player that wasn’t even contributing or every. Stinking. Time. We don’t get every player in the portal that you guys want.
Same thing last year. Everybody freaked out over the portal and it wound up being great for us. Why can’t y’all just let it play out???
