Looks like Nico’s class just isn’t cutting it.
- Slaughter
- Matthews
- Bradley
- Lang
- Keith
- Conyer
- Luttrell
I could see Okoye, Leacock, and Jalen Smith being added to this list. I could see 1-2 of the OL from that class leave as well. JMO
Ethan just needs to keep putting on weight he’ll be fine and probably the best TE Heupel has had.Jalen Smith has played more snaps & outperformed Telander the last few weeks. He’s basically a starter now.
The rest I can certainly see.
Ethan Davis concerns me the most as a potential transfer from that class, and I think it’s more of a fit thing.
Yes, Venables screwed Jackson Arnold by having him burn a RS his freshman year, but not by benching him this year. Truth is, JA was just terrible. Holds the ball too long. Slow decision maker. Not very good at stringing together good possessions. He needs to go somewhere he can sit a year and use his RS year. He needs to work on speeding things up.Wow.
Venables really screwed the pooch on this one. Never should've benched him. Not only did he screw up the kid's development and psyche, he lost his trust.
I bet someone will turn him into a good QB.
Not sure I see Smith leaving. He's been playing well, and quite a few snaps.Looks like Nico’s class just isn’t cutting it.

I think Seldon is absolutely the best RB on the roster, and I don't think it's particularly close. But he hasn't been the picture of health in his time in Knoxville. Nothing wrong with bringing in some experienced depth.Yall sleeping on Seldon, making up stories, speculating about transfer simply because you haven’t seen what was hyped coming out of high school. Dude had to learn the rb position and sit behind Jaylen wright (nfl draft pick), Jabari smalls (5 year contributor), and Dylan Sampson (record breaking rb).
I’m convinced had he not missed time in spring/summer/fall camp he would have been our number 2 this season. I expect him to lead the backfield next year with bishop and Lewis splitting 2nd string carries. He’s a stud and he’s going to be healthy and prove it next year.
Tell em, @Plove23. These fools trippin.
Why would a team that is primed for another playoff run with a top tier QB simply roll the dice at such an important position?
Wow.

Arnold was terrible this year. And at the time they played us, they were still undefeated and had plenty of reason to make a change that gave them the best chance to win.
Maybe you can blame the coaching staff for not developing the kid, but you don't simply keep playing Arnold just because he is 5 star recruit. He either plays well enough to keep the job or he doesn't.
He had a bad game against Tennessee. I get benching him during the game, but they benched him the next stretch of games for a true freshman who is worse. Then they finally realized their mistake, put Arnold back in, and he performed better than the freshman. And they beat Alabama.
Yeah, the handling of Arnold was stupid.
Look at how Kiffin handled Crompton after he had one of the worst games in UT QB history against UCLA. He stuck with him, adjusted the offense to fit his talent, and JC finally came around. That is how you handle a struggling but talented QB.
It doesn't matter anyways as I guess it was troll post on X. But if it was real, it would be pretty bad optics to the rest of the team that a guy can quit on the team 1 year and come right back the next year with a bigger NIL deal and a guaranteed starting spot. You mean desperate like Napier still trying to preserve his job? Then yes Florida should take him back if it shakes out that way. Their RB comp should be wide open next year
The other way you get to a Guarantano situation is simply not having anyone better. Tennessee didn't. Which is pathetic.Eh, Bama beat themselves that game. The Bama offense was non-existent and Milroe threw 3 terrible Int's.
Arnold didn't exactly tear it up down the stretch, minus the Bama game. And in the Bama game, he wasn't doing anything particularly special. Just running the ball mostly, as he had only 68 yards passing (which means they didn't trust him to throw the ball).
He was ok vs Ole Miss. Terrible vs Mizzou. Pedestrian vs LSU.
Maybe Arnold can become the next Bo Nix somewhere. But he often looked completely lost out there. And sticking with him just because he is highly rated recruit is how you get into a Guarantano situation.
