Speaking of Alabama, they are currently showing everyone why they had no business even being considered for a playoff spot. Down 16-0 to a meh Michigan team. Jalen Milroe with an INT and two lost fumbles in the first quarter and the team has -1 total yards almost halfway through the second quarter. This is college football now. Alabama and Georgia lose tons of guys to the portal every year.
Look at the basketball team. We lose Awaka, Dillione, and Aidoo last year and Vol fans are losing their minds. So what happens? We add Igor, Okpara, Dubar, and Lanier…and we’re now #1 in America. So was the freak out justified? No.
Tennessee hasn’t added all it will add. Let’s see how the roster looks when that’s done. But that would require acting like adults, which this fan base doesn’t do.
Oh, I don’t blame him. I defended him. Had 800 yards last year. I was just explaining the situation. Some of our fans criticize players and then get upset when they leave.Sounded like they reduced his NIL package. Idk if he gets to the league after college. He has a young family. Played through injury. Hard to really be pissed at the guy, he needed to make what he could now.
Looks like it. When is his deadline? I heard price say something about the next 24-to 36 hours this morning.I take it that he has filled out paperwork, and UT is trying to take the full 48 hours they have to process it in hopes he withdraws said papers.
Then there are others who post absolutely nothing positive and constantly bemoan the product. Some ppl just dont want to hear any truths. They take it incredibly personal.
Don’t blame him at all. He has a young one and he’s probably not going to go to the NFL. He owes it to his son to try and make us much as he canSounded like they reduced his NIL package. I like him also. He’s funny and has an unhealthy dislike of Alabama like me. He is hilarious when he talks about Bama. He just hates them.Whoever ends up being the next "Voice of the VOLUNTEERS", Jayson Swain needs to be in the booth with him. He's my favorite radio personality on WNML because he's entertaining, tells it like it is and loves the VOLS.
But, but SEC. Plus they didn’t lose too Vandy or get slaughtered by the juggernaut Oklahoma.Speaking of Alabama, they are currently showing everyone why they had no business even being considered for a playoff spot. Down 16-0 to a meh Michigan team. Jalen Milroe with an INT and two lost fumbles in the first quarter and the team has -1 total yards almost halfway through the second quarter.
Ok. I’ll start listening more to guys like you than guys like Ramon Foster and Swain, or considering things like all but 2 returning players (Brazzell and Staley) leaving at a position. There were nowhere near as many public questions about the DB room last year as there have been the WR room this year. There was also a whole lot more meat left on the bone in that DB room.Oh, so now the victim card. That is the currency of a failed argument.
You claim that the "red flags" and "smoke" are indicative of problems, and used them to question the staff. We responded that this happened last year, with positive results and a flipped position group--as well as the staff's achievements so far--as reasons that we'll calmly wait to see how things play out.
You are yet to give valid reasons why this isn't the case, and we should instead join you in handwringing.
You used Nico's brief, and apparent, thoughts on leaving as fuel for the "WR-sky-is-falling" reason to assume that the issue is smoke and red flags. Well, as has been pointed out... Nico is staying. What should that tell us? You are yet to answer that criticism and reinforce why it should be considered a red flag.
Like I said, you do you. But when you ignore the points that destroy your arguments, while piling on the accusations that we are "whistling past the graveyard", pardon us for writing you off.
So I did a little research and from what I've found Barrett Hampton used to play at Tennessee years ago. I'm not sure if he actually stayed here and graduated but his Facebook has several posts about GO Big Orange and so forth. He works as a manager for the Dept. Of General Services and was recently awarded as the "Standout Emplloyee" as a member of the Streaming Dept. for the DGS. I know none of this is relevant to the post but he seems to be a Vol fan and a past Vol athlete who loves TN. I don't see him as a troll or one who would start a rumor. So maybe, just maybe this guy knows what he is talking about. Jmho! But thought I'd share the info.First I’ve seen this… no idea who this is just came up in a group I’m in
We only upgraded because the dbs that played well most of the year transferred. They had their worst game at Ohio state. As the year went on, we got worse in the back end. Martinez had to let his coaching finally kick in over time.“Too much smoke”. From who?
Again, all the same stuff was said about DB room literally last year.
“Martinez can’t develop”
“Martinez can’t coach”
“Martinez can’t recruit”
“No db will want to play for Martinez”
And guess what…we upgraded.
Good, maybe Ryan Williams will enter the portal. Mbakwe too. Would take both. But I think it depends on what Jalen Milroe decides to do about the draft. If he stays, so do those too.
